I would like to pick up an easy to deal with simple helmet cam for an up and coming trip with motorcycle rides planned at the destination.

Thoughts?

For me I have found the helmet mounted cameras don’t provide very good footage. Maybe they would be better for the passenger. But as a rider there is not enough time to view things well before having to look back at the road. It was just too herky jerky.

I had a cheap Vivatar that I got at Walmart for $50 or so. It worked great. But I dropped it and cracked the view screen, it still worked but I couldn’t use the touch screen. My wife got me a GoPro on a Black Friday sale and it works well. I wouldn’t hesitate on the $50 vivitar again though.

I've never used a helmet cam, also interested in people's opinions on this.
