A family member suggested that I look for an LED for my rear turn signals that has a resistor built in so I don't have to do any wiring...I found these on Amazon. They're about $39.95 a pair, so not cheap, but WOW they are so much brighter (500 lumens each) than the stock 1156 bulbs! They come in Amber, so they don't wash out the amber lens, and my main concern is people behind me seeing my turn signals. FYI, I also replaced the tail/brake light with a red LED from Superbright LED's, so anyone behind me can see what I am doing.

SiriusLED 1156 anti hyper flashing built-in load resistor true 25W amber bulb for turn signal only 1156A 7506 pack of 2.

I just got them, so no idea how well they will hold up, but they have a 1 year warranty.
I like them so far!!

Thanx for the heads-up! I just got mine, but w-o-r-k has kept me away from installing them.
I've loved many bikes, over the last 52 years of riding, but this Valkyrie machine may have propelled me headlong into IDOLATRY....

Any light that is not DOT approved is not street legal... meant for off-road or show use only.
As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion....

I have made a Burning-ground of my heart
That Thou, Dark One, hunter of the Burning-ground,
Mayest dance Thy eternal dance.

The DOT rules for "street legal" include testing for brightness at different angles and distances to the lenses. One of these tests is a measurement off to the side a specific number of degrees from center. Due to the way light is created and focused by LED lights, they (mostly) cannot pass these tests, hence not "street legal". LED lights , in general, have very little side bleed. There is also a fee for "street legal" certification, which adds to the cost.
These tests were created when LED lights did not exist, and haven't been updated since. LEDs are brighter (in many circumstances) and more energy efficient, but government moves slow and doesn't adapt well.

As far as new vehicles, the manufacturer is responsible for certification, and can design lights however they want. Many still use incandescent lights to avoid lens / light redesign.

I've had the Radiantz tail light for quite a few years, I like it.

When I went on  a ride last week, I found out the tail-light (not
the brake light) no longer works... I haven't looked to see if
I can figure out why yet...
