Now in Valparaiso, IN. Left my sis-in-law this morning in the Columbus, OH area. That was an emotional get-together for both of us, she and my Rita were real close and soon as I got out of the car she laid her head on my chest and sobbed. Took a few seconds for me to join her, we had so many years and fond memories of times spent with her and her family at various gatherings. I spent the night there and got a late start today, was really tired. Today as noted in another post, I drove from Columbus to New Haven, IN and spent a few hours chatting with Wayne(Solo 1). I then got lost in Ft. Wayne trying to find US30 so wasted some time there. Finally struck paydirt and headed west to Valparaiso. I splurged tonight and got a little more pricey room, mostly cuz I was tired and wanted a decent room with a few amenities. Tomorrow I head around Chicago to meet up with Ross & Dennis....da Prez & O2s. I'll be there at least a day, maybe longer....depends on how successful we are mounting a hitch on the bike. Then it's on to Wisconsin and some peace and quiet somewhere besides the front seat of a SUV. Planning on taking in the annual EAA Airventure in OshKosh, starts the week of July 22, then maybe a car show around August 9-10. I'll be headed home shortly thereafter, stopping in Illinois to some family there. Looking forward to some restful time, a little golf, putzing with my bike and my SIL old Wing....just whatever moves me at the moment. Will also be a time for reflection re. future plans, having already done some while driving.  Bedtime!

Glad you are out and about John, seeing the family and friends. Have a fun and safe trip.
The Airventure fly in is quiet an event from what I've heard. Need to see it myself sometime.

Good Morning, John.  We often hear the saying "Count your blessings".  That means we shouldn't disregard good health, family, and the love that God and Jesus Christ have for us.  Are golf and motorcycles blessings?  I think so, as they have allowed me to make friends that I otherwise would not have.  Including you.  A motorcycle is just a thing, but when it brings people together it is a special thing.  Maybe, a blessing.

Good luck with the trailer hitch.
Very well said !

I will be taking the granddaughter to the AirAdventure this year. Not sure if I like the vintage or experimental aircraft best so I tend to spend most of my time  around those exhibits.

Be sure to ask da Prez if there is a back way he knows of to avoid the Kenosha /Milwaukee corridor. Thirty miles of road construction with narrow, uneven lanes and lane shifts with barricades on both sides. There has been one fatality per week since the WIDOT started the project it seems.
