I have removed the forks and replaced the seals in the past.  At that time I removed the fairing to gain access to the top caps to loosen before taking the forks out of the trees.
If I don't have to remove the caps, is it just as easy to slip the forks out without removing the fairing?  Looking at it, it doesn't look like there would be a problem.  Have you removed the forks without taking the fairing off?

I'm taking the forks to the Dealer to have the Progressive springs removed and my original springs put back in.  Can't wait!

Isn't it a fairly simple job to change the springs? Once the forks are off, the easy part is the springs/rebuild.

How about doing the job right, and doing it yourself (with help if uncomfortable)?

Make sure your bike is strapped down to the lift. I removed my front forks and the bike tilted backwards off the lift because the center of balance changed. Didn't fall over but scared me pretty good. Passing on a life lesson

I've replaced the seals and bushings myself.  A special tool is needed to remove the springs.  My dealer has assured me they have two guys who are quite proficient at this job.  The only other time anyone but myself has done ANY work on my bike is when I had those miserable springs put in 18 years ago.
I'm pulling them myself because way back when I had the dealer install these springs, I took the bike in and they chipped a chunk of paint the size of a nickel off the front fender letting a brake caliper hit it.  They had to repaint it.
Besides, my working conditions aren't ideal these days.  One stall rental garage...no electricity.
