Question, I know in a car you can run without one in warm weather. How about on our bikes??

The question came up over lunch and I thought it would be ok, but not sure...

In the days gone past, that was a sometimes thing to do, but with the Valkyrie which has a temperature controlled fan it's probably not a good idea if your looking for optimum running. It for sure would be very slow to warm up and maybe not ever get to operating temperature in the northern climes. And besides the point, the thermostat is pretty difficult to get to and can be problematic to remove and replace. Overall, I'd consider running with no thermostat, something not to do.

The ICM controls the spark advance. It won't run the right advance if it's not up to temp.
