Hello, I have had this problem before and the tach recovered after a few starts, the tach was replaced new about 5 years ago when the original went bad and ended up on the wrong side of the rest guard, I used a magnet to get it back but decided to replace it. I have checked the ECM Module with another, I have checked the connections in the light bucket, I have not replaced it with the old tack yet. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks  Rick.

Put a volt meter on the battery with the bike running. If it's not near, at or slightly over 14v then your alternator can be the culprit

I will try that, Thanks Rick

If that is not the problem, you might have electrical problem with the ignition switch. The ignition controls three different circuits: IG1, IG2,and FAN. The IG2 controls the tachometer, taillights and head light. I had a problem with the IG2 circuit. Rather than wait for several weeks for a new ignition switch, a friend installed a separate wire with a relay and a 30-amp fuse for the IG2.
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.  Isaiah 40:31

The last time I started the bike for a ride about a week ago the tach miraculously came back to life, could you give me more info on the modification to the ignition you where taking about. Thanks Rick
