That would be incorrect. There's a big difference between repair/replace existing sections, and building new as he claims. It's an important difference to understand. He claims that miles of NEW fence are going up, faster than you can imagine (he lied)

While the amount of boarder wall constructed is disappointing the REAL REASON it was being built, is illegal immigration.

Illegal immigration numbers show a whole different picture and the results are as if the wall had been constructed. Trump has done something no other past president has done, slow the tide of illegals. HE also stopped the mass demonstration and mass wall of illegals trying to come in by storming the boarder on trucks. To me this is living up to his promise and using every tool in his tool kit to do it. My hats off to him in doing this many pronged approach something every president in recent times said was NOT POSSIBLE.

In 2000, 1.6 million people were arrested trying to cross the border illegally, while in 2017, Mr Trump's first year in office, the number was the lowest it had been since 1971.


I might add the dems ability to entice the illegals by giving them voting rights,health care, handouts, drivers licenses and a whole host of other benefits all the time battling Trump in the courts is awefull and I believe anti US. Yet despite this Trump has done amazingly at fulfilling his core promises including a laugh when he said lets ship all the illegals to the sanctuary cities and each state that has them was up in arms.

I would also remind many that the NAFTA deal effectively would have brought Mexican trucks into the US and effectivly taken down the boarder barriers and removed part of the US sovereignty. Trump struck down that deal and put in its place a much better deal for the US.

As for the cost and who is paying effectively Mexico is paying and the US is saving billions in care for illegals. We may pay for some of the cost of building a wall but with the drop in immigration and related drop in costs we are actually ahead in the cost of the wall. Who knows we may not actually need the wall if this continues and he removes all the incentives that the illegals were getting by coming here. Wouldn't that be a nice change?

As I see it even the Trump haters are starting to look stupid since he is fulfilling his promises and making this country a better place to live. Which is removing the very things they are complaing about.
