I'm not going to be able to ride my Valkyrie  for about three weeks to one month.
Is the gas left in the carbs reason to worry?
Is there something that I must do before a leave the bike in the garage and not ride it for that many days?
Please advise.

I've left mine for longer periods than that and simply shut off the fuel valve. No issues, but it has a lot of miles so things might just be broken in well. I do try to add Sea Foam or Amsoil fuel stabilizer to a tank if I know it will be sitting for long. I do NOT like to use StaBil.

Treat the gas with STA-BIL 360° Marine and run the engine until it goes through the complete system.

Might even want to drain the carburetors.

I'm just curious....what's wrong with using StaBil?

I had it form small, red flakes inside of a gas tank. That plugged up the fuel valve screen. StaBil was the only thing red in that tank. Haven't used it since.

For only a month, shut off the fuel and call it good.

I would add a gas additive, run engine for a bit and you'll be fine. I haven't had good luck with regular stabil, but the marine stabil works. Amsoil and Berrymans are better. IMO. The ethanol is a pain if it's going to sit. Cheap insurance to do an additive.

Since I ride year round except when my neighborhood roads are ice covered, I have been using StaBil for 8 years and some 70K plus miles.  No problem with the regular version.  Though this year did purchase the marine version.   The longest I have not ridden was 6 weeks.

If I was going to only let her sit for one month wouldn't worry about it.

I haven't seen any red flakes in the tank no saw any on the fuel screen when I pull the petcock couple years ago.

+1.

Used to use Sta-Bil Red religiously until the stuff caused me to remove, clean and replace the carbs on two of my Valkyries due to the condition described above. Switched to Marine Sta-Bil and have never had another problem - even in my fuel-injected bikes.
