I'm going from a 200 kg (440 lb) 1981 Yamaha XJ650 to a 330 kg (730 lb) 2000 Vulcan Standard.  It's a big difference.  Plus the Valkarie has a really low center of gravity and really (did I say REALLY?) wide handlebars.  It's a big difference.  So I have to practice.

It's not exciting.  It's just a "getting to know you" round of practice. I drag my toes a bit while keeping my heels on the pegs - as a feeler gauge.  That's not the right way to do it, but I wanted to feel when I wasn't leaning the bike hard enough.

Hope you can make it to Inzane, we have a MSF instructor that usually teaches a class specifically for Valkyrie low speed maneuvers; "Dancing with the fat lady"

Before the class, I had my daughter practice similar maneuvers before I'd let her ride my spare Valkyrie cross country:

Being the show off type, I had to get a little fancier with my parking lot practice...

You'll do better with keeping your feet up than up and down like that.  At very slow speed in a sharp turn, dragging a foot may be just enough to slow you to a dump.  It's better to counter a tip over turn with power and clutch, if you try with your foot you'll just break your ankle.

(Not that I still don't put my foot out once in a while; it's a hold over from all my motocross days, that I just can't entirely break.)

Almost no one rides a Valk to the (handlebar) stops, close but not to the stops.

I can do Uturns on narrow two lanes all day, and never hit the stops, and that's on a high crowned road.

I plan on it once I know where it's going to be.  I don't think it has been announced, or has it?

I'll ride up.  I'm not sure if I'll there for the whole 4 days.  Feels like a 2 day ride up and a 2 day ride back. I'll probably stay for 2 days.
