Driver's Backrest for 2003 Valkyrie Starndard CD

I need some help trying to find a nice, adjustable backrest for my '03  Standard.
I am all ears.

Its hardware mounts to the passenger seat, so,
you can't have your bike set up solo.

Or buy an aftermarket seat that has the backrest option such as a Mustang or the Ultimate.

I tryed a Utopia, but didnt care for it. - One needs to be designed using the fendor rail bolts as mounts. Something super adjustable/comfortable... Any GW types to fit up?

I just finished reading something about the Utopia backrests and the need to have the pillion seat in place in order to relieve some of the pressure put on the rear fender. I'm not going to risk breaking the fender
I have a Corbin with a backrest and a Russell Day Long without one. I couldn't get one since I chose to have the rear fender rack rather the the passenger seat on the bike.

I tried a Corbin with a backrest for a while on my 1500, they're the best for some people, I like
my Ultimate+backrest a whole lot more. I get what you mean about the solo rack instead of the seat as well...



I wish my 1800 was set up solo, but not at the expense of a Russell seat and
Utopia backrest, the heck with looks  ...

I have the utopia on two bikes, a total of around 250,000 miles. As long as you have the back seat or solo rack in place you don't risk the fender.

It's adjustable, durable, and comfortable. Also good folks to deal with.

Please explain to me how the solo rack is a factor in this.
I am assuming that it probably strengthens the rear fender being anchored front and back on top of it.
I look forward to your explanation.
I can order it right away but the fabrication day is Feb 17, 2020 since they gonna take some time off in January.

The solo rack that bolts to the rear seat bolts serves the same function as the rear seat...it's the bracket being attached to the fender at the two front bolts that hold the rear seat and then continuing back to the back bolt for the rear seat that takes up some of the pressure you'd put on the backrest leaning hard on it...same with the rear seat...it's not the padding/etc...it's the bracket that provides additional strength.
