My older brother bought one for My 95 yr old mother. For last two yrs anybody comes over..... including me and my brithers and sister...... she has to show you how it works. She is amazed at it
reminds me of my Dad some 15+ years ago not at all computer, etc. savy. I put him on my cell phone plan and bought the largest basic button cell phone around at the time. He would NOT put that thing down kept calling me up all the time being so proud he could make a phone call while still sitting in his lazyboy recliner vs. using the corded rotary dial phone in the kitchen he had.
He was so proud of himself plucking one finger at a time on the old school manual typewriter at the kitchen table some 20 years ago taking weeks to type a basic letter to his sisters living in North Dakota at the time. Something most of us could do with a laptop in say 30 minutes tops.
Am surprised I turned out somewhat tech savvy (not really) but compared to my parents, especially my mom, who was afraid to touch the TV remote or microwave oven buttons for fear of either breaking them or messing them up somehow unable to figure out which buttons to get both back to normal. I also got a lot of calls from my Dad as well living in another town nearby when he messed up the TV remote buttons unable to figure out how it works again.
No way would they talk into an amazon echo device asking it a question. They would think we are crazy or something not talking to a LIVE breathing person.
My ex-neighbor (thank god he moved) the one who bugged me a lot but never seemed to take my advice then coming over later to tell me he should have listened to me, who is tech savvy IT person just had to show me several times how his Alexa voice remote worked and even programmed his thermostat and lights with one of those devices. Personally, what a waste of money...
