If my numbers are anywhere close to correct the flu on average takes around 300,000 lives per year world wide.
The Corona Virus is a strain of flu. More powerful maybe and no vaccine....yet.
I do not like conspiracy theories but all the hype surrounding this virus has me thinking.
This virus, if it takes hold in the US, could literally wreak havoc on the American economy. It is already taking tolls on air travel and cruise ships, etc.
The timing is almost perfect for an upcoming election cycle. Economy would tank, possible above average loss of life, and you know who would be blamed mercilessly!
Again, just thinking......

It was inevitable. Something needed to be done to stifle the market. To be honest it's a great time to buy.

POTUS wants $2.5B Schumer wants $3.1B. Really? If POTUS wanted $3.5B Schumer would want $4B

It wouldn't matter what number POTIS threw out there, there would be opposition to it.

UNLESS this virus is intentionally brought into the USA, I don't believe there will be a problem. That's just my opinion but I don't believe we will have an issue.

Also, as far as China goes. The economic factors at jeopardy here are the reason we cannot trust them to be in control of as much as they are regarding manufacturing. They are one of the largest manufacturers, of not the largest producer of too many medications and other medical supplies. This needs to be changed for just this reason. Medical supply cannot be concentrated to one country especially one which seem to veil much of what it does in secrecy.

Makes me wonder, what is the SHTF event will be a pandemic, if not this one another one?


Not much to do except avoid being around sick folks and how do you know who will be sick in 14 days?

Many reports coming from un officials in China that they are vastly understating the problem they are having, and are silencing those that are speaking out.  The CDC reported that it is inevitable that a generalized outbreak is eminent.  The Atlantic ran a story from a conservative type epidemiologist that world wide 40 to 70 percent of the population will contract it.  Although for many it will be no more than cold type symptoms. 

This is way out of my expertise, and I do not know what to believe.  Best advice I could give is to boost one's own immune system.  Better diet, exercise, and mega doses of vitamins, especially antioxidants, and supplements.

One thing I was curious about. Has anyone really recovered from the Corona Virus?  Some that China thought were recovered tested negative but then turned up positive again without re exposure. If it is a synthetic virus there may not be a getting over it like an organic one. More to learn and we cannot trust the Chinese to tell us everything.

UPDATE: Well, we may have dodged a bullet. The patient in FWB apparently tested negative but earlier they said it would take a couple days to get a definitive answer. So hopefully we're good

It was announced today that some american that was on the cruise ship that was released because they were supposedly over it has now tested positive again.

I have friends and relatives that are being told "No International Travel" now.  
BIL travels a bunch "Internationally" and has been told he isn't allowed to go back to China or India till this Pandemic is over.   Another BIL has been told to stay away from "certain" cities within the US due to those cities being major international travel centers.    
Have one friend (a 747 pilot/Captain) who has been stuck in China for over three weeks now with no way to get home.   Told me that his last few flights prior to being grounded had less than 30 passengers each flight.   He hasn't tested positive either.............   
Says he hopes to get back home to Nashville by late March....

Have another pilot friend who tells me that his normal travels/flights to the far east have been canceled and he's flying other places now.   Didn't ask where, don't really care.   Just glad he isn't traveling/flying to the far east now.
