Best Valkyrie review I have ever seen. I agree that there never has been a bike quite like the Valk. I had mine for 17 years, it was number 362, and loved every ride I ever made on that bike. I had to sell it due to a pair of bad knee's and always think back to the good time's I had on that bike. Like you I had tried just about every type of seat, and also loved the Ultimate. Over the years I added a 2000 Interstate gas tank, a Interstate set of hard bags, Cobra driver and passenger floor boards, a Rattlebars tube grill, and a set of Viking exhaust which were awesome. A lot more stuff over the years, but wont bore you with all that. I am 75 years old and wish I could go back in time to spend more time on that great bike.

Good video Alien, and a very good, balanced review of the Valkyrie...even pointing out a few negatives from your perspective. Nothing is perfect, but for what is was at the time and still is to many of us the mighty Valk comes as close as possible, especially when you factor in its unmatched individuality and of course the "spiritual" connection that many of us long time owners have developed with their bikes...and fellow owners.
Only thing I didn't like about the video is the title. Personally, I've never concerned myself about any comparisons to HD's (which I rode in the late 70's to mid 80's)...it's always seemed so unnecessary, as the Valk stands on its own merit in every way.

Great monologue. My ride doesn't have that amount of mileage due to caregiver duties which restricted my travels. But now I can ride and at age 82 I'm really itching to get out on the open road again. I'd love to head west this summer, just have to wait and see what the outcome is re. this virus thing.

Your sentiments ring true to me already, daily I fall further in love with the beautiful machine called Valkyrie.

What bars and riser do you use? I could do with mine being back 1 1/2 to 2" for longer rides so I can use the driver backrest and not reach forward.

I'm running the stock bars with a 2 inch spacer in the risers.  I had the same problem with feeling like the bars were too low.  That pretty much solved it.  I would reccomment actjual replacement risers rather than the spacers I use.  I haven't had any issues with them, but it seems less sound than one piece risers.

I see in one pic you had a windshield on the Alien bike, but all videos it is off.  Do you enjoy eating bugs or more so having the wind in your face? 

I find personally a windshield is a must for hwy. cruising due to tons of bugs splatting and less fatigue on my upper body serving as a windblock,  but for shorter city rides a windshield is not needed,

Yes. After trying that it's risers.

          First-terrific vid(s). On my I/S I have the one inch block style risers and what a danged good difference they made. Kury wide non adjustable levers Kury road pegs-were there when I got her-after market road lights fabbed up by daprez and a backrest with a sheep skin to park my fat keester in on a stock seat. Before anyone lands on me I'm Still comfortable and have done 700 mile days on that seat. Nudder words-wurx fer me and Yes I've ridden other seats. At 75 not getting anywhere Near the miles I used too But I are STILL ridin now and then!  Also a Bons L E D light upgrade on brake and tail lights and have added an L E D standard tail light assembly compliments of daprez. Thanks Bro!  How ever this werx out I AM on my Last M/C. Lessin someone wanna swap me fer a trike?  RIDE SAFE.

For what it's worth one of our members reported an incident in which one of those spacers broke mid ride.  Sometimes when we're saving money when need to remember that all too often we gat what we pay for.
