It's a Texas Thing.....

So a sacred tradition here in The Republic is every spring, when the Bluebonnets are in bloom, we round up all our people that are worth looking at, plop 'em in a field of Bluebonnets, make 'em pretend to be having fun and take pics of 'em...

With all the brouhaha going on around us I figured I'd better play it safe and make sure it was an approved activity first, so I asked the mayor...

Approval received, and my traveling documents all in order, I printed out a copy in case I was challenged by any comrades looking out for my safety, but then had an idea!

I'd need to safely scout out the most secluded local Bluebonnet patch with nice backgrounds and a good place to park where we could get in and out with no contact with other people...

It'd be much safer if I were to make that excursion solo without all the kids just yet.

Hey, and on a motorcycle I can maneuver through tight space to better avoid human contact!

So Sunday I set out on the Interstate around town on a scouting expedition to find the ideal Bluebonnet patch.

I didn't leave the boundaries of our city, since my traveling papers are only good for it, but I traversed most OF the city searching. My usual spot is now fenced in. My secondary spot had WAY too many people crawling all over it. My third spot was so muddy it looked like a rice paddy imitating a field of Bluebonnets.

But then I found it. On a major road through my town, overlooked, with new apartment construction on one side and the local police station on the other.

No one there.

I could safely park AT the police station, walk the family over, get our pics avoiding any human contact, and get out.

And so that's how I was able to fulfill my obligations as a proud Texan for spring of 2020.....

Never ask a geek 'Why?',just nod your head and slowly back away...

My grandmother was born, raised, lived her entire 78 years in the Rio Grande Valley was a very proud Texan. She loved the wild flowers of Texas. She was also very proud of Lady Bird's hiway flower beautification. (I think she liked the Indian Paintbrushes the best)
