I'm pleased to see the people of Michigan step up and say too far. A protest that isn't about skin color or sexual identity is a too rare sight. Our leaders seem intent on flexing their muscles to see just how far they can go.

"That woman in Michigan" had a "Covid-19 Update" live @4pm where she expressed her disgust with the protest because "they had Confederate flags" - I didn't see any, but SO WHAT.
Nice so-called covid update, Governor Crazy Eyes!

The delusional woman "governor" is getting a lot of national press and thinks she is going to be VP, then president when Joe croaks.  :uglystupid2:

Meanwhile in the "great" state of NJ we're going to have a disaster on our hands at the hands of our fearless leader Gov. Phil Murphy.

Last night he did an interview with Tucker Carlson, here's how it went;

https://www.nj.com/coronavirus/2020/04/gov-murphy-just-defended-njs-coronavirus-lockdown-on-fox-news-heres-how-it-went.html

There is a video included also.

Part of the exchange included this little tidbit;

" And in a notable exchange, Carlson pressed Murphy, a progressive Democrat, on why the state is temporarily banning religious gatherings like funerals while liquor stores are allowed to stay open. The host argued that violates Americans' right to "practice religion as they see fit" under the U.S. Bill of Rights.

"By what authority did you nullify the Bill of Rights in issuing this order?" Carlson asked Murphy.

"That's above my pay grade, Tucker," the governor responded. "I wasn't thinking of the Bill of Rights when we did this."

NJ's summer season is just about ready to begin and our beaches are closed, our boardwalks are closed, our state parks are closed, golf courses closed. Tourism is huge part of our state's economy, there are thousands of small businesses on our beaches and boardwalks which employs thousands in the summer in summer help. Hundreds and hundreds of Summer restaurants with seafood specialty menus which will crush our commercial fishermen.

Last night I made the mistake of watching Don Lemon. He had a doctor on who said it should be 3 year plan to opening the counter and getting back to normal.

I would not classify it as a Trump rally, but I agree more thought SHOULD HAVE been placed to access to the hospital.

If that's a true story, seeing the Facebook page the video was listed on I have some questions about that.

Thanks for the useless links, democracy haters!

What Hospital was blocked?
They all have cameras, show me the footage.
Show me the ambulance and police call records for the protesters blocking a hospital.
Show me footage of police arresting the protesters.

Again, this is what that lady chose to talk about during a "Covid-19 Update" on live TeeVee.
It's all about her vying to be VP, like when she lashed out at Trump from the beginning, while doing nothing at home - she didn't have time to fill out the FEMA Requests, but had time to go on "Comedy Central" and make the talk circuit (while people were dying in Michigan) :uglystupid2:

Anyone that believes this BULLSHIT is indeed "Simple", I guess that is just being polite...

Opps, sorry. I misunderstood you post. I thought you were saying the opposite. I thought you were calling BS on the FACT the hospital was blocked with the emoji that that was crazy to block off access.

The emperor has no clothes

Gig, if the stated goal of the protest was to attain gridlock around the capitol, don't you think it would also block everything else around there ? I apologize for pissing you off. I don't think you are "simple". The irony of juxtaposing the 2 different protests seemed pretty hypocritical to me. I think many of the things that have been implemented lately are "crazy". I'm sure they weren't intentionally blocking the hospital. They just didn't think it thru very well.

I've got bigger things right now. I'm about to attempt my first hair dyeing jobs on another "big haired chick". Wish me luck.  :)

I am with Gig,, show me the footage. Cameras are everywhere these days. No footage, it probably did not happen.

Meathead, I read the entire article at the link you posted.  I saw no mention of a Trump protest or of protesters blocking hospital workers and ambulances.  Blocking an ambulance is illegal in most states.  If it happened it certainly would have been reported.

I reemphasize Gig's response with double BULLSHIT, BULLSHIT and two   :uglystupid2:   :uglystupid2: and I will add it gets really old.

From John's post...

https://www.facebook.com/OccupyDemocrats/videos/hospital-worker-shreds-trumpers-who-blocked-entrance-to-his-hospital-to-protest-/1279289718936207/

From John's post?  Makes no sense.  The link is to a Facebook post specifically identified as Occupy Democrats.  It's a rant by someone who is obviously not of high intellect. His rant is only his own unsubstantiated anger with no supporting facts, pictures, etc.  I do not question that he may work at a hospital but I strongly question that he is a trained healthcare professional.

Meathead and Baldo, I have given you leeway this time as your posts definitely fall into the category of introducing politics into an otherwise nonpolitical thread.  Turn it off.  I won't do so again.

I supposed it's possible the protest at the state capitol could have effected Sparrow Hospital, but seeing as it's over a mile from the capitol it obviously wasn't the intended site of the protest.

If it did cause issues at the hospital, I'd place the blame jointly on the hospital for not planning ahead knowing this protest was coming and on the state for impeding the traffic flow of the protest to the point that it was impacting hospitals over a mile away from the protest location.

Or possibly the state wanted it to impact the hospital so it would intentionally cause someone to die just to make the protest and protesters look bad.

I would bet you that there was no hospital blocked and even if there was, that if they identified themselves as a hospital worker, called the police, called the hospital and asked for an ambulance to come get them there would have been no problem.

I am amazed that this lockdown has not caused all to rise up in protest.

But some have decided to take a stand against fellow citizens fighting the Tyranny that has engulfed this situation. I find this a shame, but no less so than Pelosi applauding herself in torpedoing business loans for people.

Totally agree with you Connie. As I said in another thread anyone who thinks that the protest in Lansing was just "Trumper's" is either very misinformed or blinded by politics.  This Governor is trampling all over individual freedoms and Michiganders of all parties are deeply concerned and have a right to assemble and protest that.  One of the guys I work with actually had a police officer come onto his property Sunday and demand that it be proven to him that  all 5 cars in his driveway in fact belonged to him. Michigan government is out of control and the rights they are stepping on belong to all citizens, regardless of political affiliation.

We should all be concerned about our civil liberties being trampled on. If not they will just slowly disappear one at a time until we wake up and realize we are slaves to the government. When that happens everyone will realize why our forefathers provided a way for us to protect ourselves from the tyranny of government. Unless we let that be taken away as well.

It would be quite interesting to track the number of infected people by Covid-19 a few *weeks* after this event.

My guess is that it *didn't* help to stop the spread of the virus. Probably the opposite.

They should call it 'The march for the Virus'.

I'm sure the number will go up whether by happenstance or a direct effect of the "March". But I am reminded that a lot of Americans fought sacrificed and died to protect the freedoms we all enjoy. They are not to be taken lightly or sidestepped on a whim by elected officials overstepping their authority. It may cost some innocent lives but the fault lies at the feet of the official as much as those who sought to demand their rights.

Looking at the photos posted here (and news media), there are quite a few people walking around *out* of their cars, unless I'm mistaken.

I guess is safe to assume that they didn't observe the 6ft rule of distance (which some recent research says it should really be more like 10ft, but whatever...) and that the people close to each other were not all related and living in the same home...?

This is a zoom-in of the photo above the thread.

It reads: "I am being proven right about massive vaccinations. The Doctors lied. Save our children & their future".

The world is on chaos because we don't have a vaccine for a *single* virus.

I consider myself blessed that my mother cared for me and my brother and ensured that we received all the recommended vaccinations (polio, smallpox, etc).

I guess a few in Michigan are *indeed* plague enthusiasts.

Before passing judgement, I would suggest to read the Executive order:

I read the order.  It did not change my judgement.

BTW, I did not ask whether you knew something of biology (lower cases).  I asked whether you know how a virus is spread.

Yes it is.  If you'd do a little research, you would find that the organizers for this got permits, coordinated with officials and came up with an agreed upon route specifically to make certain that no routes/access to hospitals would be blocked.  And there was a valid reason for this protest that impacted ALL LIVES in MI.  Not some made up protest against cops shooting innocent/unarmed black men.

And the world is in chaos because a government is not and was not careful no matter the exact cause, creating yet more distrust in any government. Not talking about pro or con of the use of vaccine. Sure would be nice if we did not need this vaccine.

I just read the linked to executive order, and nothing in there prohibits "recreational Vehicle use". However, that doesn't mean that any of the subsequent orders does prohibit them (such subsequent orders are listed in the original order - not necessarily complete).

I didn't spend more time digging if there were other orders (?) *but* what was listed in the order I found seems pretty reasonable.

If I understood correctly, you can still buy groceries, travel out of the State, drive between your homes (e.g. town home, vacation home), care for relatives, practice outdoors activities, etc.

Essential business can still operate.

I guess even leisure rides would be covered under outdoor activities/mental health.

You didn't read the document well.  Out of state travel was to be limited to out of state visitors going home and residents returning from an out of state visit.   >:(

Indeed, and if so, I stand corrected.

But they didn't explicitly forbade it, right?

Individuals may also travel:

If you are staying in a hotel in another State for a few days, isn't that habitation your temporary 'residence elsewhere'?

I guess a motorcycle ride could possible fall within *outdoor activity*:
"Individuals may leave their home or place of residence, and travel as necessary:

To engage in outdoor activity, including walking, hiking, running, cycling, or any other recreational activity consistent with remaining at least six feet from people from outside the individual's household."

As I understand it, the protest wasn't a result of the initial order; rather, it was the governor's increasing arbitrary restrictions.

Yes I heard things like she was selecting items she deemed unnecessary for purchase like paint, seeds for planting, outdoor items like hoses and patio furniture as well as garden and gardening supplies. Also other normal use items in store location be restricted from purchase. Also heard she was restricting travel to second homes or cabins like our governor did.

She only disallowed those items in "big-box" stores, not smaller stores.  She responded to complaints by saying it was a good chance to patronize smaller stores.  She also said you can't go out for a motorcycle ride or take your own boat on the lake... even by yourself.
