" After Christmas Ride ...Alabama - Georgia " Dec.28 & 29

I've had a few ask about this ride so here's the information . We'll ride into Cullman , Alabama on monday afternoon  12-28 . DO NOT make reservations anywhere until we see how many folks show-up . Meeting at The Downtown Grill @ 108 4th Street Southwest,Cullman, AL this is Wayne's ( Winghot's ) resturant he closes at 3:00 eastern 2:00 central so if you plan on lunch you need to be there before then. I'm thinking the couple bikes I'll have with me will not make it to Cullman in time for lunch  . Tuesday 12-29 we'll ride out for north Alabama along beautiful Guntersville Lake ( Wayne may join us and hook us up with all rural backroads ) on our way to Little River Canyon in Alabama and Cloudland Canyon in north Georgia.Both these area are outstanding with awesome roads and beautiful scenery with all the rain we've had the river should be rockin'. Joe, I wish I could get away with doing just that, but being that I just started back to work in September after 8 months of unemployment, I don't think I will push my luck too much yet. I will at least get to see some of you for lunch.

Joe, what's your plans timewise on Monday & Tuesday?  If I can get my leaky valve on my rear tire to hold air, I'm going to try to ride with you Tuesday.  What time are you heading out on Tuesday from Cullman?  If I can't get my tire aired up, I might drive the cage to eat with y'all on Monday if you can give me a rough estimate of when you'll be eating.  Looking forward to it!

Dave, I have some 90* metal valve stems at the house. If it would help, I will mail  you one, or if you come for lunch Monday, let me know and I will bring you one.

Thanks for the offer, but just got my metal valve stems from Patchboy in the mail yesterday.  Unfortunately, I'm not going to have time to install them prior to the ride.  I'm ordering today my CT and so it'll be another week or two, with the holidays, before I can get my rear tire and stem changed.  It held up for the Shiloh ride, so I'm hoping it'll hold up for Tuesday.  I do have my portable pump on the bike in case I need it.

Dave we'll be cuttin' it close just to make Winghot's before he locks the door monday ( 2:00 central ). Not sure if Wayne will be gettin' a bike yet to ride with us as of now    if he does'nt go on the ride tuesday we " may " lay a few miles down going back north to the Guntersville area. That way we'll have more time to ride tuesday. If Wayne can borrow a bike we'll stay in Cullman if not we'll more than likely head north and get a room closer to the ride for tuesday. Wayne told me to hallow at him saturday night after I talk with him I'll know more. Best thing to do either way is pack a tooth brush and a change of drawers and ....Bring It...LET'S RIDE

I'm glad you posted.... I've took it off twice and can't get the stock peg to fit right ( it will not get tight enough without the heel toe shifter    The dude I got the bike from re-tapped the hole and even with me buying two bolts and a spacer the stock peg will not fit right . I apologize for not getting back to you on this to be honest I forgot your name and this is the first time I've seen you post.Try a " WANTED " on the VRCC classifieds someone out there will be able to hook you up.

I was going to be there but then my petcock fell apart.    The new one was supposed to be here Monday afternoon.  I was going to throw it on and haul for North Abalamer.  Then on Tuesday, I got an email from Eastern Performance with the UPS tracking number.  My Pingel will be here next Tuesday afternoon.  On Christmas Eve, my Mom took a turn for the worse.     I'm at home taking care of her.  Mom always told me things happen for a good reason, it just may not seem like it at the time.  Looks like this was one of those times.

Joe, add 2, Pete(Valkyrie owner and member) and Jimmy (VTX, riding buddy). We will see all you folks at 108 4th Street Southwest, Cullman, AL. We should arrive about 1:30-2:00 Eastern (1:00-1:30 Central) since we do not have that far to ride. 

We plan on spending the night(there or somewhere on the way back) and riding back northeast with you folks on Tuesday.

I won't know until tomorrow if I'm going to be there.  My rear tire was flat tonight and I filled it, so I'm going to have to see how quick it goes down to see if I'm going to ride it tomorrow.  If I can't, I'll either cage it tomorrow for lunch or just not be able to make it, depending on what's going on.  Hopefully I'll see you tomorrow at Winghots.

Monday morning 12-28 ..... The ride is on we'll be rollin' out of The Great State Of Tennessee @ 7:30 ( est ) this morning . Hoping to make The Downtown Grill in Cullman before Wayne's locks the door at 2:00 ( cst ). Looks like we'll have a nice group and we will be staying in Cullman tonight as we have a couple rider's that will be pushing it to get there by dark coming up from Louisiana . We'll find us a motel when we get there Cullman has plenty so that should'nt be a issue.Lookin' forward to the tire kicking tonight and getting to share the wind with everyone tomorrow.Photo below of The Little River Canyon we'll see this area tomorrow....Bring It...LET'S RIDE
