I don't really have anything against the H2 but, it's not even close to my top 10 vehicles I would like to have.   Just not my kind of vehicle.  Won't haul what I want to haul, won't tow what I want to tow and won't corner like I want to go around corners.   I don't think it's a bad vehicle, just not made to do what I want to do.   I couldn't care less about 4 wheel'n or it's zero to sixty time.

I thought the "crab walk" capability was kind of neat, and the 100 miles on a 10 minute charge, but I'm not sure I could trust off roading in an EV and the 80K base price was nuts.

well, if you look at a loaded f150 is pushing that 80K mark, not there yet but almost.  The price of any new half ton truck is over 40K msrp for a mid level trim nowadays.  These vehicle keep going up near 3% on average and at 40K that is OVER 1 grand MORE per year nearly EVERY single year.  Mfgs. cannot keep doing this since at least for guessing over 1/2 of us on this board,  on fixed income and retired or like me making crap money and yearly raises lately are non existent or 1-2 % per year and if very lucky, over 2% yearly raises.  A lot of companies due to Covid this year are either taking away 401K company match or NO raises for anyone in 2020, or both like my company.

I like the 0 to 60 in 3 seconds, 1000hp, but the video said 11500 pound of torque and that cannot be true, maybe can tow 11500lbs.     If it had 600 mile range and a rapid charge system able to be recharged fully in say 8 hours fully charges on 110 volt home system it might be worth 60K to me.  That would be 8 hours of driving in a day or so and that should suffice for most daily long distance trips even though have done 18 hours of driving straight thru once in my life (minus poddy breaks), probably not a good thing doing that again.

also, what is up with that removeable sunroof entire top off.  I wonder how many years before it leaks?

They can raise the price because we keep buying them.
Right now they can't make enough trucks.

GM makes roughly 1.4 million Silverado/GMC Sierra trucks a year in 3 manufacturing plants,  2 in the US and 1 in Mexico.
It's a huge cash cow for them as trucks are cheaper to build than cars, and people are nutz over them.
At the Fort Wayne plant they kick out a truck every 75 seconds..... people there work their asses off.

The Hummer thing is an uplevel breakthrough vehicle intentionally. People who want to be first and have the bucks will grab it.
First years production is sold out.......

Not for me.  I will buy nothing from the Big Three for even half that price.  Never mind a first-year product that will be full of bugs and recalls.  I don't trust any of them to make anything that is reliable.  That's what counts for me.  And based on a lifetime of experience with all 3.  As well as Consumer Reports and reports from friends.  I'll stay with the company whose business plan is rooted in reliability.  And I think I've bought my last newish vehicle - at my age.  A bulletproof 4Runner.  I expect it to outlast me.  If there was a 4runner with the same specs - nope.  Still need to have more range and faster recharge with accessible charge sources.  That can't happen with 110v 15a standard circuits.  So there will need to be ubiquiteous infrastructure and better battery tech.  Not to mention political / environmental / practical concerns.  The electricity has to come from somewhere - now that just moves the location of the pollution - as well as unrealistic loading of an already overloaded power grid.

yah, am sure he will NOT in his 4 years as next President (lord help us all), maybe in next 10 years but he will not be around then to see it come true.  He is so full of BS as all politicians are they say what people are brainwashed to believe.
