Turn signals slow to start?? 99 Interstate

On the ride today my turn signals start after a 3 or 4 second delay. Sometimes longer. I did just replace the battery to a Duracell Ultra Duragm 14.
Very odd. Any ideas? Thanks !

Switch probably needs a good cleaning.

Mine does the same thing. IN fact they will not work for 10-15 sometimes 20 seconds or more the first time I use them.
I have gotten into the habit of turning them on and off a few times until they start to work properly.
I agree, it is probably old dried grease on the switch.

The odd thing is they were fine before the battery change...
tho I haven't ridden much in the last 2 months because of battery issues . Thought I might have a bad alternator—! But I think I dodged that bullet...

My 98 std does that in cold weather. So did my 03.

If it were the alt the speedo and tach would go out.

Take the control box apart (2 screws under the box) and spray degreaser into the switch mechanism. Relube the moving parts with a small amount of dielectric grease (Super Lube).
