Hello all I hope all is well.

I built a wood lift adaptor that I saw here on the website and it appears that the California small canister blocks the crossmember that the two vertical posts are supposed to support. Does anybody know if this is in fact the case or if I'm placing it wrong? Also is it pretty easy just to remove that canister temporarily to use the left the doctor and then put it back on? Thanks for all the help, Matt

Not sure what a left the doctor is. But the low tech wooden lift adapter I built worked just fine on the California bike with the canister I had fir a while.

Lol Sorry about the voice to text mess up but it looks like you got the gist of it. Did the two vertical wooden posts go on either side of the canister? Or in front or behind it? Thanks again for your help, Matt

The little post goes in the little flat space in the middle of the side stand mount

The emperor has no clothes

Doing a full desmog on the CA bike is going to be a little more involved, and take a while. I assume from your other post about gear oil, you are in the process of periodic maintenance ? The legs of the wood adapter should contact the kickstand mount and the frame that it is mounted to. I haven't got down and looked at the canisters on CA bikes before. I'd say if it is in the way, just loosen and move it or temporarily remove it. Doing a desmog took me the better part of a day. A CA bike will take longer. And if I remember reading it was a little more confusing with which hoses to block and so on.

Yea, I do not want to get into a full desmog right now so I will be looking at just removing the canister or working around it.

From the other posts I have read it looks like I can pull it out but I need to do the following:

Plug the vacuum hose

Leave the breather open

Does this sound correct?

Thanks, Matt
