Very sad news - Big BF Bill Ferguson passed away today

I am very, very sorry to have to inform you all that Big BF Bill Ferguson passed away today.  He had tested positive for Covid19 about 5 days ago.  He was in Duncanville, TX working on his 65th Valkyrie on his trip.  That's all I know.  I last saw him Wednesday when I took some food over to him.  Such a nice person, so talented.  Please say a prayer for him and his family.  More details as they come out. (His family knows of his passing).

I am in total shock.  Such a huge loss.  Prayers out for his parents, Joe and Jeannie (who are also battling C-19), his wife Elizabeth, and his children Jamie, Sarah, and William.

He had been sick for several days before he got tested last Friday; he thought he had the flu.  He got the positive C-19 result on Sun.  On Monday, a doctor in Texas started him on HCQ, Ivermectin, Z-pac, and Zinc.

So sad to hear this.  He did a little work on my bike in Morgantown, great job, and we "argued" about the price, jokingly of course. Glad I had the chance to meet him.

Such an awesome man.  Bill helped me out with the Silver Bullet in Spearfish.  She ate her rear bearings outside town,  I was lucky to limp the final 30 or so miles including the canyon ride. I would been been stuck for days instead of riding the next evening.  He came to Gunnison and stayed for several days working on my Ruby.  Our driveway wasn't big enough to accommodate his rig so he parked in the rodeo grounds lot under an awning for shade.   Despite the altitude and thick smoke from the forest fires that season almost kicking his butt.  Super talented.

We enjoyed Safeway deli chicken and 5B's BBQ, and "chatting" on the notepad.  Bill was proud of his independence but he loved meeting and helping Valkyrie riders.  He enjoyed showing me his work trailer, and giving us a grand tour of the electronics on his awesome $80k pickup truck.  

When he was leaving Cheryl and I were so appreciative for the help we gave him big ol' bear hugs.

I had hoped to give him another one day.

R.I.P. Bill.   We are  sure going to miss you.  

BigInSeattle's posted link reminded me I have Bill's BigBF Horns on both bikes.  They have fended off drifting drivers, and prevented collision.  I'm pretty sure a nodding lady who purt near creamed me last summer thought there was a Mack truck on her bumper.  I think she had one of those pooperosity moments.

Wow, very sad news. RIP Big BF. Bill was one of a kind. I didn't know him long but long enough to know he was my kinda guy. I met him at InZane 16 getting him to do some work on my bike. Then in 2018 actually coming to my house to work on a couple of my Valkyries. I had a room and private bath for him but he chose to sleep in his own bed. He was here for a couple days and we enjoyed each others company. I saw him in Asheville this past InZane as I was his first customer. I admired Bill for his dedication to help all those he could with their Valkyries and make a living at it. He will be missed by many. Prayers for his family for comfort and strength at this time.

Totally shocked to hear this, I had the pleasure to chat with him via text when he came to central Florida, great asset and a sea of knowledge to this Valk community, he had touched many lives through his work and helped many in their own driveways. Very sad to hear. Met Bill for the first time at Spearfish Inzane where I purchased an item from him, then he showed me how to correct a minor issue myself that  I was having on my Valk. Always thought it was great how he made a living travelling around working on Valkyries....and the positive reviews posted on here  after he had done his magic. RIP Big BF and prayers to his family

By missing a phone call on a Sunday morning, I missed out on him reviving my Valkyrie last year. I'm sure that was my loss. I never met him in person but always admired his abilities. Another reminder we are not guaranteed tomorrow and life is precious.

Through the years I've heard of him and his persona as well as his expertise on the Valkyrie. I had hopes of meeting up with him (as with all of you) at some time as well as being one of the lucky one to have him do some work on my bike.

How terribly sad for Bill's family and the VRCC community.  He was a good man.  I never needed his services, but I always enjoyed chatting with him at inzanes and petting his dogs.  Bill made a lasting impression and will be missed.

Am very saddened to hear this news.  Met him in October while working a few days on my 98 Valk in front of my house.  I went into his trailer after work and although he never needed my help, more so got in his way am sure and took more time away texting him often,  I was always amazed at his calm demeanor and mechanical skills.  He knew exactly where all his tools were and what size was needed every single time like he was the encylopedia of Valkyries, really knew his stuff.  

We jokingly talked (texted back and forth) and I asked him what if Trump looses the election, him being a huge Trump supporter.  He told me he will probably retire for if Biden gets in office his taxes will go thru the roof.   He was that one night watching in his nice trailer the Presidential debates seemed very into it wanting Trump to win was right before when Trump got Covid.  He asked me if any good places to eat in my small town and I said not really only 5 bars and he said no thanks, he did not want to catch Covid.   He wanted to wrap things up after 4 days in WI heading into IL next for he did not like the cold being from AZ and temps were dropping into the 30's for low temps at nights already back in October.  

He will be missed by all who knew him.  Wealth of knowledge, very intelligent, and such a nice person to be around.  He always seemed happy doing what he was doing traveling the United States being his own boss and was a pleasure to have met him.    My condolences to his family and close friends such a huge loss to all.     Wishing his parents well also for he talked fondly of both of them when he was at my house.
