VA and covid shot

The VA will call you when you are in the right age group or high risk for the shot. I am not high risk but 70. They started the 65 and up group. Received a call from the clinic I go too. The nurse went over my history and asked health questions which is customary. I take no shots for the flue, shingles, pneumonia. Asked if I wanted the covid 19 shot and will schedule a time. I said no I want to see how it all goes with those that received it. She just said that may be wise. I said if I get one it would be Johnson and Johnson. She said that would be wise. Makes me wonder what does she know?

Probably not much more than you.  She's just scheduling appointments; she is not supposed to give medical advice and is probably not qualified to do so.

          When or If my V A Clinic calls me I'm fixin to tell them gonna hold off a bit more. Also wanna observe how it affects folks near my age and physical condition(s). I also realize it may help more than hinder but still holdin back some. RIDE SAFE.

Funny I'm slightly younger and got a call that I'm in the high risk group for scheduling.... I'm also waiting to get it.

Really  O2S - I'd like to meet you someday too, and if you die if you happen to catch it (especially since you need supplemental Oxygen anyway)....

BTW for VA types, my rather obnoxious father in law was at the VA for something else, had been told he was weeks or months out before his turn to get the shot, but just showed up at the vaccination area and kept bugging 'em "Anyone not show up? Any cancellations???" and kept rolling his sleeve up. Took a few minutes of him annoying 'em until they finally just gave him the shot to make him go away...
