A big Thanks to Troutdude, Ladybug and Warlock

Delivered my (new to me) 99 Valkyrie Trike to troutdude earlier this week, he was going to make a few changes.   Those changes and a few smaller items required a significant effort to get accomplished.   

Left home about 0530 yesterday morning.   Troutdude had the body off and was ready to rock.   Warlock got there just prior to me.   We started the changes I had asked for.   Discovered several "other" things that needed to be addressed.   A significant (to me) mod was needed to get that Valkyrie trunk to actually mount on the trike  body.   Several adjustments had to be made to the mounting points to get the axle squared up like it should be.   Interstate tank swapped in, new shifter seal and a few other things.   Sync'd the carbs.   One heck of a day.   Ladybug kept the drinks and food coming.
  She's a keeper.   Got home just before mid-night last night.   Those two gents busted tail to get it done.   Can't tell you how much I appreciate their efforts.

I don't think there is anything these two guys don't know about Valkyries and doing what they do so well.

Well, might will have to have someone else do that for me.   Never figured that process out.   But, I first need to get it unloaded from the trailer.  Which BTW, has another one of my little innovations/alterations.

Create an account using the SIGN UP box top right.

Create a new gallery by clicking on the box towards the top left

Upload photos. Do a max of 4 at a time or it can take too long.

Once uploaded put your cursor on the image you want to put on the VRCC forum

Now move your cursor to the symbol to left of the trash bin symbol
Click on it
Now copy the "Hotlink" for forums.

Now go to the VRCC post you want the photo to appear in and right click and paste.

Once you then post your comment the photo should appear for all to see.

  Ron, that sounds like a really good time was had by all. Too have a friend like Dennis who can do his magic to our Phat Gurls and make'm like new. Well pictures would be nice   so tell us what color your new trike is; there was a beautiful Red/Blk down this way for sale about a month ago.

I have figured out how to post to FB.   Just a couple of pics but, it is what it is.   

We changed out the trunks and had to fab of some tabs for the mounts to clear the trike body.

Making those changes made all the difference for me.   Interstate tank, seat, trunk and exhaust.   For me, it looks like it should have from the factory.   To each their own, I know but, I'm thinking I'm going to like this.   Almost as much as my two wheeler Fat Girl.

As for the taillight, just tell folks that's your special touch of customization... a bit of distinction... That's what I've been saying about our girl's bag lids anyway...





As for the threesome who came to your rescue, I've never found a better group! My life would be entirely different were it not for those fine folks! Most of what Dennis has done for us over the years have been shared on here, but nobody could actually capture in words all he's done and what it's meant to us!!! Others, too, like Gordon, Allan, and Mitch have joined in as have t-man and Big Wolf... heck too many folks to name, but it is Dennis who has truly made much of our Vision Quest possible and on-going...

All of those folks you mentioned have helped me out in one way or another in the past.   There's some really good folks you mentioned and I'll agree, Troutdude, Ladybug and Warlock are wonderful friends and very knowledgeable.   With out their assistance, I'd still be scratching my head.

sounds awesome. but i have to ask, i hope you did not cut the chrome trunk mounts trying to clear the body. if you did. wrong move. it will bend everytime you hit a bump. when my installer did that and the mount kept bending. the installer had to buy me a new set. then i just sanded more of the body out to clear the mount.

No metal was cut for this mod.   We did trim the fiberglass a bit to get those mounting brackets to fit.   Dennis did a very nice job on that.   We did have to fabricate some bracket extension tabs, actually Dennis' neighbor did that for us.   But, it all looks great and is very stable.

yep.. can't be done without those extensions. motortrike coulda had more thought into that setup. in my opinion they coulda made that part of the body higher and mounted the trunk to the body without using the chrome mounts. thats the way the goldwings were setup.

Me either. The guy that build the extensions did a great job. Built them so they would kinda cam in and lock in place for added support. Looks like the one that Motor trike offered was just a flat piece about 3 inches long with 2 holes in them. Not very thick either.

yep, mine had those 4 little peices of metal. when motortrike and i made my dealer buy me new mounts because they cut mine. i used the old chrome rials in place of those peices. worked pretty good.

All I know about that trike and it's accessories is what the seller told me.   He said, "The trunk was installed where he had the trike conversion done".   It may not be a Motor Trike trunk but, according to him, it was installed at the same time by the same shop.
