I've tried three shields, not happy with one of them. I won't list them or my dislikes, rather my likes about this one. I will give detailed instructions with the one I just had made/modified with parts/directions and pictures soon. I am just so jazzed up about this I had to let the cat out of the bag.

Looks good, also looks like OEM hardware.
Thanks,

Yes, OEM hardware. The shield was made by Bob Eggerichs @ Slipstreamer. Bob still has the template that will mount to the OEM hardware. He can make any size you wish with any options/graphics/tint you wish at a very reasonable price. Bob and Wendy are a pleasure to work with.

I purchased the OEM shield, Inventory hardware and loosely mount for correct positioning.

I purchased brackets to extend the lower mounting point. This aligns the shield angle with the fork angle. Shield works better, allows airflow thru the bottom and eliminates buffeting. The tip to tip measurement is 2" I discovered the U-bolt brackets are much stronger after the install, I will be changing out the brackets. Filed the sharp corners, drilled the holes to accept 1/4"-20 bolts, deburred and painted.

This seams to be the best set up I've tried. The OEM mounts are solid, simply the best available. I do not care for the "billboard" stock shield shape/angle. Bob worked up a shield utilizing the factory mounts and I went with 17" It is larger than I like. I will be ordering another shorter shield as well. I am 6' and look over this (barely) Good protection, nice airflow from underside, no buffeting. Just a local ride so far, shakedown cruise this weekend.

Thanks Jack, It needs to be 2" shorter for me. It is currently at 17" tip to tip. I will wind up with 15". I hate to cut down a brand new shield, I rode all day yesterday including highway speeds trying to get home at over 90mph. The Genuine Honda mounting brackets are ROCK SOLID. No wiggle wiggle, no vibration, zero movement. I just prefer shorter shields and more air. I am having another made 2" shorter with dark tint on bottom half covering the brackets and light tint on top half. The beauty is that these are interchangeable in just minutes. I'm ditching the Honda chrome strips on the face and have made a quick disconnect in black.
I'll get it right, sooner or later.

Nice job on the windshield, it looks great.

The only problem I have ever found with wind on the Valk is the air that comes from below the windshield and over the top of the tank between the projections for the radiators.

One day I am going to design something to stop that, since most of the wind hits you in the chest and that is from that area.

Thanks Robert, I think I found a solution for that. Drill new holes in the windscreen whatever you are comfortable with, between 1" and 2" in higher on the shield. When mounted this will drop the shield that same amount. I went the full 2",  which is barely touching and you can still see the blinkers function. Now I want another shield even shorter with the same relocated mounting holes. Getting this bike perfect is painstaking but the bike is worthy. That couple with the lower bracket modification is perfect for me.
