Looks like it's going to be a dry start for the ride up to Athens. All loaded and ready to launch in half an hour.
If you're going I'll see you there. Ride safe.

:cooldude: Best of luck on your travels today. I wanted to ride 225 miles up to SW Pa. this evening and spend some of the weekend with some grands, then motor over to Athens Sunday. However, it's pouring steadily here and is predicted to end sometime tomorrow afternoon. I can wait.

Yep, I put off till Saturday departure. Rain all thru GA/NC until late tonite  8) I can wait as well. Getting caught in the rain is fine, but leaving into a storm makes no sense  :cooldude:

(In NoVA) the rain today (and continuing tonight) is approaching biblical.

I can fish in the back yard again (but all I could catch would be cicadas).

Thank goodness for good sump pumps.

Safe travels Jeff, I am sure it will be a great adventure  :cooldude:

Pappy!

Fingers crossed for a safe ride Jeff. Let us know how the weather was. Been looking at the radar all day today and it looked heavy from around Lake City North.

Made it to Athens around 1:15 today. We were really lucky to miss basically all the rain.
Stayed in Jonesville NC last night and missed the down pour by 5 minutes. A slow start with only about 50 bikes so far but I'm sure that will change later today and Monday.

I just returned today from a 7 day ride. I experienced some of those biblical rains. Not fun but pished through only to be greeted by 96* and index of 108* :???:

Well Jeff found me and while messing with my trike Nick walked by...later ran into Keith. Was good to see some of the old Fla. gang. I left the Green Bay area Wed. and ferried across the lake to Mich., visited a cousin for a couple days then headed south. Did someone mention HOT? Got in here early Sunday afternoon, no trouble with the trike...until I went to park outside my room. Made a sweeping turn to enable me to back into the parking space, grabbed the front brake and at that very moment a brake line ruptured...runs from the master cyl. to the distribution block on the triple tree. So here I sit at least until tomorrow when the bike shops open up. I'm ok with it, gives my butt a day off.  ;D

That news got around like a whirlwind, soon Mitch and Troutdude were on the job. Told them I can handle it, just need the parts but was told to relax...we got it so I stepped back and let them take over. Couldn't finish the job since it was Sunday and nothing open so maybe today it will get done. Trike hums right along, was running 65-70+ in areas where I could. It's a pretty solid ride, I learning from DD to go into the curves low and come out high...worked great but have to watch yourself. Sometimes the curves tighten up so gets "interesting." The cruise worked great the entire trip so quite happy with the machine overall. Probably won't get oldest rider again this year, some old gent in his middle 90's rode in. Observation tells me he has no business on a bike but not my call, just hope I have the balls to do it if I live that long. Last night was kinda fun sitting around reminiscing over the events of the last 20 or more years. I've developed a lot of good friends during that time.  :cooldude:
