Evap canister replaced and car operates just fine.  A week later, the dash indicator lights came on again and computer readout says evap canister is the culprit.  Canister changed again and a week later, dash lights come on again.

Mechanic can't figure out how to get the dash lights to stay off.  Have been driving the car like this for 8 or 9 months with no issues.  Base model with 130,000 miles.  Starts and runs great.  Other than the evap canister, nothing but oil changes and brakes.

Thanks.

What year Rav and what is the specific DTC or DTCs? There is no specific code that says to replace the canister. There are codes related to canister operation, which may have pointed your mechanic in that direction. At this point, I'd wager that the canister itself is not at fault.

Probably a canister purge/vent solenoid issue, not the canister itself unless the solenoid is an integral part of the canister.  The specific DTC's that set should tell you.
