Exhaust tip bolts

Q: There are two small bolts which hold on the chrome tips at the very end of the exhaust, I have misplaced two of mine and have been unsuccessful in replacing them after two attempts at the hardware store.

Can anyone give me the actual specs on the bolts and/or tell me where to find OEM replacements?

temporarily, you could use 6mm bolts and some 6mm washers + lock washers.




[edit] true, nobody going to see non-oem bolts. I just like flange bolts.

Depending on how tight those tips fit on the cans, only one bolt may really necessary to hold them on.

When I put on my 18" Air Flow truck stacks, I took a long time measuring, dimpling and drilling them to line up with the 3 bolt holes on the cans.  Then, they fit so tight, I had to put a soft piece of pine over the ends and hammer them on with a mallet.  I used all three screws since I had taken the time to line them up and drill them, but those things would have never come off (or even have got crooked) with one bolt.

Assuming you are not moto crossing your Valk.

Pretty cool, my local Cycle Gear has these plastic boxes of bolts that they call "Japanese motorcycle bolts" which are mostly flange bolts of various sizes and lengths. There's also an assortment of flanged nuts in there You grab the 6 mm bolts in there that are about 15 mm long. Good to go

I replaced my corroded exhaust tip hex-head bolts with stainless steel pan-head hex-socket bolts.  Much cleaner appearance.

Jess when I put stacks on my standard I had to put a pillow on the garage floor and pile drive them on. Used no bolts and would Dare say they will ever move without using a torch or cutoff wheel I put full "36 length stacks on though not"18.
