No mechanical problem at all !

Ordinary maintenance : oil, clutch, brakes, rear transmission ; sparks, tires, brake pads, air filter cleaning ; forkoil at 100,000 km - no improvement  valves checked at 50,000 & 100,000 km - I skipped the 150,000 km check. I changed the rotors at 100,000 km. Three years ago I bought heated grips 

The left muffler went rusty at 100,000 km so bought a pair from Brian. Lately, I have discovered a hole on the upper chrome part of the right muffler :



which I filled with whatever I could find in order to avoid the rust under. There's another hole in progress on the left muffler :



Yes, there is a gap on the chrome parts of the left muffler and I don't know why.

I am really satisfied with this bike because it is fun to ride, reliable and it doesn't cost me much.
I go to the dealer once a year in order to socialize  , it costs me 70 $ per hour (more than 105 $ at BMW dealer  )
The new R 1250 RT 2021 is a wonderful bike but the maintenance costs are way above the ones I have with the Valk and I think I won't ever come back. If I have to change, it may be for the Goldwing bagger DCT 2021 (the Grand Tour is much too expensive for me and not as fun to ride as the bagger).

Still, I have to be careful with the clutch, a little bit slippery. Once in a while - once a week or so, I check if the maximum speed is still there. And it is !

I'm sorry but I'll disappoint you. I've been using this oil for over 20 years, a brand you don't know because it is sold in a french supermarket :




I use it not only because I'm stingy  or because I don't think that the most expensive oil is the best  but because the tests in the french motorbike magazine say it is the best one.

I know that a 20w50 oil would be better than this 5w40 but it doesn't exist in this brand. As you can see, it is 100% synthetic. I change the oil each and every 6200 mls, more or less and the filter too.
