I have see this buried in other threads by others but will post it here so it is searchable.

If you are going for a new petcock there are a couple of aftermarket a;alternatives.  One is built for the Valk and has the vacuum control, the other is a direct interchange but is straight manual operated.  You can use the OEM on/off/reserve handle and hardware.  I put one of these on today and IMHO is the way to go.

The only difference is that the pickup tube is about 1/2" shorter and so you will get a bit more on main and a bit less of reserve.

The part number for the "manual" valve that I used is on one of the pics (18-4133).  I am an Imgur virgin so once this is posted I'll check and see if I got the link to one pic or 2.

If you go to the K&L website you can see both models and there is a list of wholesalers that sell to the shops.  The valve is available on EBay but only shows US sellers and so for me (Canada) it worked out better getting it from FortNine in Quebec and getting it mailed.  They ship free after $50 and so I added a tube of moly paste and ended up paying the same for that as I would have for the now free shipping.

The pick up tube and filter from the original Valkyrie petcock are removable, re install it on the new one to get the height and reserve amount the same.

Did this to my Interstate and will do it to my Tourer next time the tank is off, along with adding Dan-Marcs to each.

Don't mean to overstep, but why the 18-4133 valve instead of the one that says it is for Valkyrie (18-4161)? Do the 18-4161 valves not work?

There are several of these on ebay.

Great observation. I did order the one specified for the Valk. It does not have the vacuum feature but I’m good at remembering to shut the fuel off. It is expected to arrive today. I also ordered a Pringle from Amazon to compare. I will put it on my other Valk (trike) or send it back. I do like the option of using the nice chrome extension.

I’ll report back.

I received a 18-4163 and it is not the correct one. The catalogue is somewhat confusing to my old brain. The 18-4133 is what I should have ordered according to the catalogue BUT THE PICTURE SHOWS IT BEING ORIENTED 180 degrees the incorrect way. Picture May have been reversed but ….

I’m going to return the one I received but hesitant to order the 18-4133

Let me know how this works out for you.

The picture on eBay shows the correct orientation. I am going to stay with the Pringle that I ordered because this KL has the vacuum feature. I trust the Honda OEM more than I would this one. Personal opinion.

I ordered K&L Fuel Petcock Asy 0139-003 which says its for the valkyrie.  I recieved 18-4133. It  also says
the included fuel screen must be removed to fit.  Ordered a valkyrie fuel filter and its 1 inch longer.  Why does the 18-4133 filter not work>?

I hate to keep bludgeoning an obviously deceased equine, but the site says that 18-4161 is the correct one for GL1500 Valkyrie. I keep wondering if that is why the 18-4133 doesn't work - because it is the incorrect one.

I'm sure I missed something.

(I was going to post a screen shot of the site's listing of correct valves, but I don't know how to do that.

I just purchased the Honda CBR600 F3 petcock after reading about it here on the forum, I haven't installed it yet but wanted to keep the OEM look and not have that big hole in my chrome cover plate.
I have owned the pingle but wanted to give this idea a try.

The 4161 is vacuum actuated, 4133 manual.  Does anyone know why the manufacture says the 4133 fuel screen must be removed to fit the valk?

It might be a typo. I removed my stock Valkyrie pick up tube and re installed it on the new petcock with the screen, it’s been on the bike working flawlessly. I installed the vacuum less model. You might be getting mixed signals because it wasn’t used on a Valkyrie from Honda. But it fits.

I just went to a manual using one for a CB600F3. It's a K&L 18-4133.  I too wanted to keep the same chrome side cover.
