Have a question regarding Viking Exhaust if the Honda heat sheilds are supposed to line up or do they overlap.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Michael

I have a fairly early set of Viking pipes on a 1997 Tourer and the heat shields appear to overlap the rear stacks - but only very slightly . . . . . maybe 1/16" - 1/8".

Perhaps later versions fit a bit more precisely?

Hope this helps.

Terry,

Not sure when my Viking Exhaust was manufactured.  Left side over laps 1/16th and looks good the right side is another story.  :tickedoff:

Neither of mine overlap identically - but the difference isn't enough to be too noticeable.

What exactly is the issue on the right side?  Too much space or not enough?

When your pipes were purchased, they didn't come with the shields. They were located later and installed.
Don't know if this might help.

Anyone happen to know the details on what the "air box mod" is when you run Viking pipes?

I know on my 97 Standard Bob did a GLH package and there were modifications to air box, not sure if it would be different with Viking Exhaust or not.
