Throttle locks?? Help please..

If you have a throttle lock for your 1800, which one is the best? I'd like to get one .

The fancy billet ones I got years ago seem to be gone (1500, not necessarily the 1800)

But looking for them just now I saw this.  New, and interesting, but I have no experience with them.

Top or bottom actuated.  Depending.

I don't get many responses to my suggestions but since you seemed to like the Grip Puppies, I'll throw this your way.
I have used the Omni Cruise for years on my 1500 Valk, V-Strom, and now on the F6B. It's simple to install and use and it's easy to over ride if the need arises.

IF, I were looking for a throttle control for an 1800, I would forgo the throttle locks and spring for a MCCruise electronic cruise control. They are high quality and reliable from my experience of having a setup on my Valkyrie. Even after 15+ years on my Valkyrie, I recently transferred the setup to a trike and it worked flawlessly. The current offerings are much improved over what they were producing back when I bought mine.

It's an Australian company and I don't know if they have any American dealers or not but during my recent swap I needed to replace one of the throttle cables they supplied with the unit and I was happy to find they still have parts available.

I was just reading on their site that they now have the option of using factory Goldwing switches for controlling their system. Now that would really be cool on a 1800 Valkyrie.

I understand cruise control, I even use it very occasionally on freeways in my new truck. (so occasionally that I have to relearn how to work it each time, as it involves three steps... I think)  The newer 37 functions on four steering wheel stalks (and buttons on the steering wheel) is freaking confusing. 

I only stopped stomping my foot for brights a few years ago.    

But I see a cheaper mechanical throttle lock as most utilitarian in occasional use on motorcycles to relieve throttle hand fatigue.  And most of the time when engaged, I don't remove my hand from the throttle, I just rest it there.  

I suppose if I used freeways all the time on my bikes, cruise control might be useful, but fortunately I don't use freeways all that often, or for long.

On my recent trip to Hattiesburg, my first on the Goldwing I found the cruise invaluable on long stretches of interstate riding. It gave my hand/wrist a break and it kept me at a more constant speed and somehow allowed me to relax a little. I found that with the comfort and wind protection of the Wing I would often find myself creeping up on 90 mph. I've had a throttle lock on my Valkyrie and they work and aren't costly but in hilly terrain you do have to deal with the gain and loss of speed.

I especially like cruise for long freeway drives.  It takes the stress of maintaining (and not exceeding) speed out of the equation, always gives better gas mileage, and lets you pay attention to other things (like texters and maniacs and big chunks of semi tires - gators). 

I especially enjoy gators when they explode off a semi ahead of me, and all the cars start to emergency swerve and brake all over the road, and the gators are still moving.   Cruise off.
