Looking for a good local cycle painter

The automotive/cycle painter which I have been using for the past couple of years has decided to move to Tennesse. I am looking for a good automotive painter in the Tampa Bay area if anyone can make a recommendation.

Nick or Don aka old fart or Jerry have all used same guy In your neck of the woods. Outstanding job there. Hope they chime in .

Thanks, LaRue. Nick & Jerry introduced me to their guy Doug a couple years ago. He is the guy I am talking about having decided to move. He is a wonderful person &  great painter, as witnessed by the paint work he did on Nick & Jerry's bikes. I have an Interstate tank and trunk needing some body work & paint for my blue & cream trike.

Doug's dad passed a couple months ago & now he has nothing keeping him here. He sold his old Cadillac & bought a mid-70s Bronco & went to the Bronco Rally in Pigeon Forge last month. He fell in love with Tennessee and plans to sell his place & move to Tennessee in the next year. He is enjoying rebuilding his Bronco from the ground up and wants to focus on his own projects.

I don't think Ive meet Doug before. I have family close to pigeon forge and my uncle belongs to a few car clubs. If anyone talks to Doug and wants to e interduced, let me know. Always nice to know people when moving.

My mom worked with her dad as a house painter summers to fund her schooling at WVU.

Later, she painted our old beater 2d cars with a 4" brush and can of paint.

It didn't look as good as you'd think.  (but it did cover the rust)

I thought about painting a motorcycle tank and fenders with a can of paint and a brush and then sanding and buffing it out, but I haven't yet.  Theoretically, it should work.  I know a guy that painted a 1957 Chevy matt black with a paint roller.  It looked great if you like orange peel.

I've seen guys do amazing work with a rattle can (and buffing).    I can't.

Doug the Painter is one of the best I have ever seen! Thanks for the heads up Dan I reached out to him last night he will not be to far from our Sylva digs.  He will let me know when he lands, exactly where that may be when the time comes. Doug not only painted many of our bikes he also painted Lill-Hege's Valk tins, all parts expertly wood crated by me and placed on two pallets, dropped off to a Norwegian guy named Olaf in Fort Lickerdale. 10 weeks later the ship arrived in Oslo then a two day trip up north to Santa land. All tank paint on the bull horns and fenders was exactly that, paint. Yes he is that good.  I believe Doug was a Don find? Also for the Record he was a Valk guy. He is not riding at this time but last bike he had was a red black IS.
