Yesterday my wife, a new Valkyrie rider, and my daughter took the Valkyrie trike for a ride around the neighborhood. Rounding the corner they came upon a pack of "real" bikers (as described by my wife.) Bearded, in leather, and on Harleys, my wife approach with apprehension. As they passed they got thumbs up and smiles. A little while later, they again came upon the "bikers" but his time they got applause and big smiles. Seems like our friends on Harleys appreciate ladies on Valkyries.

It's good to see her ride the trike I got for her last fall. She didn't express a lot of interest until I mentioned selling it. Now she mentions rides daily. Still around the neighborhood and a few country roads around the house. Hopefully she will have more positive interaction with "real" bikers in the near future.

Advise her to wave and smile riding by.... but not to stop.   ;D

One time at the famous Laughlin (NV) River Run, in the destination casino, a bunch of those guys (in colors) tried to make off with my wife.  There was some discussion of them wanting to show her their etchings in their room upstairs.

I told her that the leather bustier she wore that day looked fetching and all (bursting out the top), but it might get her in trouble in that croud.

I enjoyed reading that your wife is enjoying her trike. We need more women riders. The Valkyrie is an impressive machine, no matter who is in the seat, but I have definitely noticed that women get some mighty appreciative double takes when on one.
I  am pretty sure my last words will be ... "Well crap!  That didn't work!"

My wife is asking about triking my tourer for her to drive. Will have to research what brand. Then she can drive on trips and I can nap.

If I may be so bold, I'd like to suggest buying a bike already triked, as opposed cobbling up another good Valkyrie.  Your choice entirely, but may be cheaper in the long run.

Agreed. It is not cheap to trike a bike and good deals can be found. Take a look at cycle trader. That is where I spent a lot of time to find mine. You can also use Search Tempest that allows a nationwide Craigslist search for things. https://www.searchtempest.com/. I use it to find deals on things all the time.

I have a Motor Trike trike kit and I'm very pleased with it. Some of the kits are less desirable. There is a trike forum and I see trike for sale sometimes. https://www.triketalk.com/forum/

I do agree with you, I sure would hate to change this one. It is an exceptional clean and fine running bike.  I have priced it out and close to 12/15 K. I have also wanted to change it to a bobber but then I look at it and can not do it. She likes the can am but way over priced. I will drag my feet on this one.

Us Harley riders aren't as bad as everyone makes us out to be. Kudos to your wife. May she ride safe and sound forever. From a very old Harley rider and Valkyrie owner.  :coolsmiley:

I agree completely. They were just boys have fun. My wife and daughter felt no greats. It was just a funny event that needed to be shared.
