To dinner

I had spent an hour or two harvesting mulberries, sometimes climbing up and down a stepladder.  I thought I might have dinner at Wahlburgers.  I could have fixed myself something at home but I was in the mood for a treat.  One small issue was that my tee shirt was drenched in bodily fluid.  I had two choices; to wash and change my shirt or to engage a blow drying experience.  I selected the latter.

A good procedure for blow drying takes place at a sustained velocity of some 75 mph.  That is best done on  a run down the flyway.

On the way to the flyway I passed at an intersection, she had a read while I had a green, a fat girl on a Fatboy.  I rendered the two wheeled salute but as I rode on the irony struck me.  Here we were greeting a fat girl on a Fatboy and a fat boy on the Fat Lady. Actually my identification as a fat boy has diminished by some twenty-three pounds in the past couple of months.

I rolled onto the flyway and quickly migrated to the leftmost lane.  She really likes to go into top gear at around 85 mph.  I have had friends tell me they've never had their Valks into triple digits.  I don't know how they do it.

Drying in the wind only requires a couple or three miles but the run south to Gardner at seven miles and back is quite convenient.  I enjoyed the time in the wind.  My tee was completely dry but the place the legs of my jeans come together was still quite damp.  Perhaps I need to stand more when I'm speed drying.  Maybe I could have used a brush afterwards but personal appearance is not nearly so urgent as I once thought it was.

I arrived at Wahlburgers and was told my preferred server had no tables available.  I told them I would wait.  I've found long ago that life is so much less tense when one decides to not be in a pressing hurry.

Good dinner ( I had the Buffalo Blue salad with extra buffalo sauce and jalapeño slices) and a good ride.  Life is still a rewarding experience.

The comparison of fat girl/guy riding a fatboy/lady, was quite entertaining. Definitely food for thought!

I know you are missing your Motomama and her awesome cooking. While I have enjoyed her company, and appreciate you giving your blessings to our "ladies trip", I promise to send her on her way home to you soon. Hang in there!

I'm one of those guys who never had his Valk over three digits. That's because I don't live in Kansas! We have things up here in central NY called "curves". They're kind of a bend in the space/time continuum. You start out at point A, but point B might be east or west of you, or it may even be behind you, even though you're on the same road. Crazy, right? Triple digits and curves are kind of mutually exclusive.

Congratulations on losing the 23 lbs! I'd be careful, though. If you drop too much weight, don't you get kicked out of the club?? It definitely seems like we all belong to that North American subspecies of humans known as homo fatassiens, identifiable by our appetites, our kindness to strangers, and our need for a little wider "base of operations" when seated.

I also agree that life is better when we decide not to be in such a hurry. When I was dairy farming, the last few years I made a conscious decision to slow down a little. Less stress and believe it or not, I got just as much done. A positive attitude is a decision we make.   Be safe.
