DIGGER

Had a fuuunnnniiieee thing happen on my birthday last week.

I turned 72 August 29th.   We were at my sons Del Rio Tx hunting lease and had just consumed a large outdoors barbecue meal.   Sitting around picking our teeth and my son's wife comes out with a large birthday cake with 72 candles on it....ha.   She gets a box of matches and lights one or two and my son walks up and says to her "let me help you, honey" and lights up a propane torch and runs across the top of the candles and lights them all in a couple seconds... ha. They sang "Happy Birthday" and I blew them all out in one breath...ha

Thanks.  At this age you start wondering how much longer you have to ride two wheels.   At some point I may have to go to three wheels to get the wind in my face....and I will.

It is an unbaked cake
The candles took care of the baking

Been there Digger. After taking care of my wife her last 6-7 yrs. I couldn't go anywhere so my riding skills  on two wheels diminished. I took a couple trips(2019 & 20) after moving to Wisconsin following her death, but just didn't feel comfy...most likely due to lack of riding. So two years ago at age 82 I bought a trike thinking I'd be safer on three. As a result, I do feel more relaxed and confident...especially in the rain and strong winds. On the two wheeler it became difficult to do 300 miles a day, not so on the trike. I've done well over 400 at least 3 times, over 500 once and was very comfortable do so. Granted, you don't get to lean into the curves, but as many years I've been riding I have a lot of leaning memories to draw on. Plus you still get the wind in the face out on the open road, that's what it's all about.  :cooldude:

PS: Happy birthday, sounds like it was a great time for all.

Thanks.   Hate to eventually give up my two wheels but 3 is ok with me.
