My brother and I are going to see Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn at the Fort Wayne Embassy Theater.  William Shatner will be live on stage after the the movie.  Won't be until February, but I have never gotten to see a movie at the historic Embassy Theater.  I can hardly wait.  The best movie in the entire Star Trek franchise, in my opinion.

I agree that Star Trek II The Wrath of Kahn was probably the best of the Star Trek movies.

Enjoy the theater and William Shatner.

Very groovy.... Not only the best Star Trek movie, the only good one (IMHO, in general I despise Star Trek but that one.... THAT one is great!)

Never ask a geek 'Why?',just nod your head and slowly back away...

I'm a Shatner fan. Liked most of his acting and he's a horse guy. Been meaning to locate his horse farm and drive by for a look see.

I agree about how good that one is, but the Chris Pine mirror image of it is pretty good too...

It held true for most of the franchise that the even number movies were the better ones.  I liked First Contact, also.  But, Wrath of Kahn showed just how good practical effects could be.  And the Enterprise Refit is the best looking ship to carry the name in the entire franchise, imho.

I don't know anything about the theater but that sounds like quite a good time. Hope it is.

In HS, we went on a field trip to see 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968).

It was in one of those old, very fancy theaters.  I had never seen anything like it (the theater), and it was almost as good as the movie itself.  The name escapes me now.

The 2001 plot line instilled in me a distrust of computers that has never left me.  HAL was homicidal.  Dave, what are you doing?

Later, my buddies and I went to a whole passel of LOUD rock concerts in the same kind of theaters in the Detroit area.  Marshall amps stacked to the ceiling, and it's a wonder I have any hearing left at all.  These concert venues were far superior to the giant places that packed in 20 thousand or more people.  I didn't care who was playing, I avoided them.

Though not directly related, when I was in ET school at Great Lakes, I took a young lady on a date.  I picked 2001 A Space Odyssey.  It was showing in a small theater in Chicago.  I was a science fiction nut so it seemed like something I would like.

I remember the theater was different than the one at home in Myrtle Beach.  Can't remember what but it was special and smaller than I expected.   The movie was not what I expected but it was interesting.   That was in 1968 as well.

This was the fanciest theater we had. I always liked it, even though in its later years the area got pretty bad with drunken Natives.
It had these beautiful copper engraved murals depicting the history of Alaska.

It's a pretty amazing place.  It was nearly demolished many years ago.
