Foam for seat

Anyone got a recommendation for foam to build up my rider seat?

Why are you wanting to do this?

Place a Gel pad in it.

I've tried a few different Valk seats. I'm not riding much, so not used to the seat, after 100 miles, I start fidgeting, hate the ride. I bought a std seat, to take it apart, and rebuild it in the style of that seat.

I figure I'll strip the seat, fill a plastic bag with some high density spray crack foam, and sit on it. Then after it seats, shape it and cover. Or that foam will be a pattern for other foam to shape it into the bowl. Lots of youtubes on doing seats.

The Airhawk is a good solution (and adjustable; more air is firmer and higher).

Gel pads retain heat (esp in hot riding). 

Before I got new Ultimates, I might change the air (up and down) in my Airhawk several times on longer rides.  But I used it for comfort, not ride height.

I might go around to a few upholstery shops (or some full service dry cleaners) and talk about adding foam on a bike seat.  Unless you send it to a seat maker.

Post 99' seats are $110. I know a custom pad here is probably $200 and you have to be there as they fit you and complete whole process at that time.

something I did with my '98 seat which worked well was using https://buttbuffer.com/faq/
I installed mine under the seat cover. its not a common gel pad.
overall it worked very well, but I like the newer seat better than that setup.

On a note, the post 99' pad looks very similar, padded firmly, and fits very much like Mustang Wide Tourer. I'm at 5'11", 170 lbs., and normal  build. Had Mustang WT on my 1100 Spirit and loved it. I replaced both pads on the Valk @ $210 as the age is a factor dealing old foam padding.

I have also bought, used and tried multiple aftermarket seats on my Valks. The best by far is the Russell Daylong.  Doesn't have to be a 4 piece set if cost is a factor.  I have ridden many 1150 mile one-day Iron Butt rides between Denver and Milwaukee on it.  Could have continued if I hadn't arrived.
