It has seemed like forever since we made it to Florida for the Leesburg Bike Rally.  But we are all set to attend this year and would like to meet up with the gang for a ride again.  We arrive on the 26th and leave on Sunday the 30th.  We will be going to Leesburg one day but not sure what day it will be.  A lot will depend on what you guys are doing.  We will be available to ride any day from Thursday April 27 - 30.  We are staying in Daytona this time and would like some ideas for rides from that area.  Thanks and we are looking forward to seeing everyone again.  We are also looking for some ideas for a good route down and back.  We do not want to take 95.

Where are you starting from? I may be able to work you out a decent ride without much Interstate riding.

I am starting on Long Island in New York

I am a retired Long Haul Trucker, and have been riding over 55 years, off & on. I would ride I-78 West to I-81 South.and I-77 South into NC. From there, if time is not a large factor, I would ride I-40 West to US 74 West, and then US 441 South all the way into Florida, then SR 100 South (or East) out of Lake City. This will put you on I-95 less than 50 miles North of Daytona. If you have lots of time, I would get over into PA, and then ride major US routes all the way from Harrisburg PA. In any case, I would do my best to stay away from Atlanta. Ride Safe!!

I'm in Daytona area, heading to Leesburg Fri-sun. Saturday is the best day over there, usually good bands. Lots of lakes to ride around. As far as Daytona, only good rides are north to Saint Augustine areas or west through bunnell or Astor out towards Saint Johns river. Can't go east and south is mostly traffic.
West then south you could hit Eustice and mount Dora (close to Leesburg)
The light at the end of the tunnel, is a train.

Thanks for the ideas.  They are greatly appreciated.

You are quite welcome. The routes I mentioned are the way I would travel.
