Traveling down to south western Ky to pick up my 67 Chevelle and bring it closer to home. It's going to have a layover in my mothers garage that's 100 miles closer than where it is now. Currently no room at my house but since it needs a lot of disassembly her garage has the room I'll need and gives me a chance to check in on Mom more. The car hasn't run since 1997 so even though I'm renting a Uhaul trailer, I've had to rig up a winch to pull the car up on the trailer while the trailer is attached to the truck which I think I have accomplished.

I haven't laid eyes on the car since 2019 when it was moved to my bil's farm. It's been under roof since then but I hope it hasn't deteriorated too much. It's going to be a total rebuild so there won't be much that isn't going to blown apart. I will probably pull the body off the frame, hopefully I'll live long enough to see it go back together with the help of my son and grandsons! Thinking this might spur me on to put the Valkyrie back together too.

I had a 67 Chevelle (4 door hardtop) that I WAS planning on taking to university, until a neighbor kid totaled it out on me while I was away at NROTC catchup camp in Newport RI. Dad found me a 69 Ford LTD coupe to take instead...

I've got a '57 Chevy Station Wagon that's been sitting since '95.  :???: I always planned for the minute I retired to start on it. Been 3 years now  :'(

Have to take that first step!

I have undertaken too many projects like this in the past, spent way too much money on them.  It's got to be something gone wrong in our genes that makes us want to do this kind of thing.

But, being honest, I'm envious of what ya got.  ;)

Had this 69 LTD since may of 1990. Like that 429-4V in it. Ain't worried about it getting scratched.  ;D

The good, the bad , the ugly.

Long day yesterday, 500 mile round trip, mostly uneventful. Unloading was a bigger chore than I expected but I got'er done.

John, that should be a great project.

I see the good and most of the bad but, don't see you in the pictures........... ;)

Don't tell me that hood just stayed up there the whole trip with no tie downs?

Unless the whole trip was at like 4 mph.   :2funny:

Pretty sure my dad's first new car '67 Impala was the same gold.

Hood went in the truck bed for sure. And that is the factory 67 gold paint code although not what the factory applied to this car. It came from the factory as a two tone called cream over fawn. They used the same stainless trim to separate the two colors as was used on vinyl top cars.

I totaled one of those during a test drive when I was 16.

I'd love to have the engine out of it now.
