There was some talk about improving the earlier (97/8) clutch damper plates that had a
tendency to grenade.

Also that they were difficult to order these days. Does anyone have info?

I just rebuilt the clutch on my 97 Valk and didn't notice anything obvious
between the old and new damper plate.
It's weird being the same age as old people

98valk

it was the '98 yrs mostly that did it. the rivets were a poor quality, material, heat treating, etc., was never revealed exact issue.
