The Interstate rear pads with fit all models and all calipers with modification.

What kind of mod? The tourer pads are on back order but the interstate are in stock.

I haven't looked at a set of I/S rear pads for a while, but what I remember is they come with a metal backing plate that all other pads do not have.  It's been discussed the plates are for heat dissipation.

Once removed, the larger OEM I/S rear pads will fit in the front calipers of all Valks.

My theory for the lower price is because Honda has not run through the original stock, so has not had to reorder at higher cost, but that's probably going to end soon :)

When ever I see some pads claiming to be longer lasting, I always think "longer lasting pads = shorter lasting rotors"

OEM organic pads last about 20,000 mi. for me thus $50 a leg is tad expensive but...

0-60 mph stops @ 107 ft. is pretty adequate for a 750 lb. bike with organic OEM pads.

Valkyrie OEM pads are not Organic material. they are sintered bronze material.  organic pads provide a long stopping distance.  only race track organic pads will stop shorter than sintered bronze, BUT they must be kept at race track brake temperatures.
That '97 stopping distance is still in the top five of all motorcycles.

The site splits hairs and is making generalities...Specific brands could be exceptions..Is it good advice? Probably.....
Is there test data for the conclusions? Nada.
Still I'm not racing the Valk, don't care..for my duty cycle I'm good.

every OEM has the test data. they wouldn't use and have less stopping power for their hypersonic sport bikes.

I stand corrected. After a 2 yr. hiatus in vision of my last change. ;D
In the past I had replaced the pads on the VT1100C with EBC sintered and the visual difference was much more pronounced. The rotor wear factor leads me believe that they are sintered as my rotors are on low limit @ 51,000.
