Every year at this time, I always wonder how and why she kept me around for so long.   I'm still not very trainable and I can't do everything like I used to.  One has to wonder why...While I may not be one, she's a keeper.

Yep, 43 years ago today, I and she tied the knot.
I'm reminded that 6 June was also D Day.  Hmmm, I wonder.

Should probably do something special today. I think I'll mow the lawn for her.   :2funny:

The move to Tennessee should be enough for this year, but maybe you should mow the yard too!??

While I wholeheartedly agree, this is one of those times (I'm thinking) where it's what have you done for me today type things..................  ;)

Congratulations.   And it was an interesting choice of days.

I wasn't married on D-Day.  But sometimes it sure seemed like it.   ;D

And I later wished I had not taught her to shoot (so well).

Congrats on 43 years.  :cooldude:  (though I would avoid mention of the 43; "annual anniversary" sounds better).

Noted.   I was just presented with the opportunity to make her a happy camper, she just rolled in with 30 bags of mulch she wants spread out.   :???:

Be back later, I have a task at hand.  :D

Today is not my anniversary but to honor both you and Alice for 43 years of marital bliss, I mowed my grass too!

Jess from VA

The way to move 30 bags of mulch is to drive the truck right to the locations it goes and throw them off.

It is not to load them 2 or 3 at a time into a wheel barrow, and then push it all over creation.

(In my neck of the woods, wet mulch often gets rotty and moldy underneath, and becomes a home for all manner of creepy crawlies.  I only use it sparingly.)

John, you have no idea how happy such a gesture makes me.   Probably makes your wife happy also.   :2funny:

Drove the Ridgeline along the front of the house and dumped the mulch bags as requested.  She's happy and I'm tired and sore.   It was dang hot while doing it.   But, it's done.   Don't even own a wheel barrow and don't want to.

The next project is to pull a dead Japanese Maple up and then fill that spot (after ground prep) with concrete so she has a place for her glider.   My son has a concrete mixer so it shouldn't be a real  big deal.   I learned long ago to not ask why.................

Hired a guy with a skid steer mulcher to take out a area filled with Bradford Pear Trees and brush.   I knew it was more of a task than I wanted to take on.  Have seen several snakes in that area and I don't like snakes in my personal space.

First I've heard of you moving to TN.  Had enough of Hattiesburg, or was it MS?  Seems you like your new place and the new area.  Wife and I have been discussing leaving Antifastan (formerly WA State) and TN was one area in the final running.

Next week will be 46 with my wonderful better half.  Unlike you, I am highly trainable.....she only has to hit me once for me to understand!

Serk

Congratulations to you and condolences to the misses!  :2funny:

BTW, I was 9 when ya'll got married.... Just thought I'd point that out.

Don't even own a wheel barrow and don't want to.

My wheelbarrow and dolly truck get used all the time; saves the old back, shoulders and arms.  And less trips to take.

Everything comes in the front and gets carted around the back (all on concrete drive/walks).

I wore the old pneumatic wheelbarrow tire out, so I stuck a solid wheel on there (no more air pressure issues).

If you ever visit, I'll give you a ride.   ;D

Trapper,
Whenever you're ready for a ride around TN, give me a shout.

We didn't leave MS for any bad reason but, we were drawn to TN by the birth of our grandson.   But, I've informed my beloved spouse, this is my last move.   The only way I'm leaving this homestead is on a stretcher.   Moving is hard work and at my age, quite frankly it sucks.

Jess, I don't own or want a wheelbarrow because, I can do a lot more with a lot less effort sitting in the seat of my Kubota with FEL.  ;)

Well, I have 2 plumbers coming today to try and fix another probable tree roots in the main sewer drain causing water backup in the house.   :tickedoff:

This happened many years ago, and they brought in a great big power router/snaker and ran it for hours (down through the removed basement toilet).

Then they sleeved a PVC hose up inside the sewer drain from the house to the street.  (I thought that solved it for good??)

I'll need the wheelbarrow to carry the money for the plumber bill.   :'(
