Antenna relocation for super valk

Hello!

I've owned a standard for some time and recently bought an interstate. I've been preparing to do a super valk conversion. Luckily, there's tons of information here, so I'm already informed on transforming the trunk to a "quick release" and wiring/adding the brake light of a standard to the interstate.

One thing that I'm not too clear on is how to relocate the antenna. It looks like some people do without but I would rather keep mine for the radio and aesthetic. Here are two images I STOLE off google and the forum of some other super valks that have the antenna attached along the right-hand side bag.

If you have done something like that would you mind sharing with me how you did it?

Any other tips and tricks are appreciated.

I have a spring mounted antenna clamped to my supervalk (OE aftermarket) bag rails.

The original whip would probably be a better antenna, but the bike came this way.

Also, when the wind and speed get going, that thing starts helicoptering and has whacked the (lid) paint a couple times.

I have seen a rubber ducky antenna used. A custom bracket is needed to attach to the bag rail.

For FM reception, you only need about 7-10". AM you need the longer 17-23". So the short rubber ones work ok. I cut my stock on down to about 15" and it works great.

There's a powered antenna (Dakota Digital part) inside my fairing.

If I put the trunk back on I just swap the feedline plugs going into the radio.
