Don't judge me

Well, I've done it. First time I've ever put a bike in storage. A friend of a friend has a bike shop not far from me and has offered a place in the easy access garage in case I want to go to southern climes this winter.
I've also been trying to get back into life again. Started a job with a local highway department in February. I thought being a different town, politics wouldn't matter, but it did. It's like a high school click and I'm too old for that nonsense. Started anither job a couple weeks ago. Driving for a fuel oil company in the next town. 20 minutes ride to work, at 3:30am. (Hence the reason for moving the bike to storage. Jeep will be parked inside and warm for morning drives to work.) I drive a trailer to Boston and keep their five tank farms full of heating oil, off-road diesel, on-road diesel, and kerosene. I'm liking it so far. The other driver tells me winters are busy, summers are not. He says they will try and get you to 40 hours in the summer. Wait, what? No overtime in the summer?! Holy crap, I think I just found my happy place.
Happy Thanksgiving, all. Enjoy the time with your loved ones, and friends.
Sometimes you only get 2.7 seconds, make it count.

Nothing wrong with putting the bike in storage. Your explanation makes perfect sense.  ;)

Too bad the DPW job didn't work out because of work-place drama. In the last nine years of employment I had four different jobs. This after working at one company for 27 years. It's tough to be the new guy and assimilate into a new culture, especially if it's toxic. I'm glad you're in a better place. No go to bed! You've got an early morning.

Having worked 30 years for a public works dept., you are constantly under a microscope..
Everybody in that district watches every move you make, as it is their money and trust you are earning....
Wishing you well in your new position Paul....Now about that tanker of off road diesel...That's what Lil' Blu drinks....

I'll grab 10,000 gallons for you as soon as I can convince the boss we have a tank farm in Maine.
