    And signed some papers and Provinmg my bonafides my CCW Is renewed fer 5 more years. The old one expired in Dec 2024 and I called and was informed we had a Newly Elected Howell County Sheriff and I Needed to wait til now so the New letterheads and what not were ready for the new signatures. As of March 22, 2025, there are 29 states that have constitutional carry or permitless carry laws, meaning individuals can carry a handgun concealed in public without a permit or license, so long as the person is of age, and not otherwise prohibited  (like a felony conviction, etc).

I'm not a fan of 'open carry' for a number of reasons.  But that's another discussion.

Here's a list of those states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia (with some exceptions), Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

The Second Amendment doesn't say... The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, so long as you have a permit.

It ought to be all 50.

Last renewal I done was $65 lifetime otherwise $25 every 4 yrs. since 87'. Could be nice to have proof of "stability" when purchasing firearms privately but otherwise meh. Still got to be a good judge of character so to speak but most my sales are dealer purchases with no waiting period with permit but a lot of Indiana firearm laws show "repealed" at the present due to change to "right to carry" so I don't know about private sales etc.

Texas does have neutered Constitutional Carry but it's far more limited than if you have your LTC...

(Agree, should be no nothing required anywhere but here we are.)

Another nice thing is since the Texas LTC has a deep background check presenting one negates the need for a NICS check when purchasing a firearm.
