First ride of the season

It was sunny and 59 here today so I decided to take the Interstate for a ride. Even though there was still snow on the ground from our snow storm on Saturday, it was still a great ride. I sure hope I get a chance to ride more this year than the last couple of years. I know I haven't met any of you here on the forum, but it seems like I know you from your posts. Who knows maybe we'll run into each other some day.

Hey Rich. Congrats on your first ride of the season! I was wondering how much snow would be on the ground up your way. I've been to the Blue Moon Diner twice this season and was considering taking a ride there yesterday. But I went to a diner in Pepperell, MA instead. There was not really any snow on the ground and the roads were clear of salt.

After lunch I rode up into NH on route 122 through Hollis and Amherst to route 101. Route 122 is a beautiful ride, especially through Hollis. From there I rode 101 W to 31 S to 124 S to Townsend, MA. There was bits of snow on the ground in some places in NH. But the roads were not salted and it was really a beautiful sunny day ride, with temps in the 60s.

The next time I'm up in Gardner I'm going to try Duguay's Fried Chicken on Parker Street (route 101). I hear it's the best fried chicken in the area.

Duguay's does have the best chicken, definitely better than KFC. It's been a while since I've been there but since you mentioned it I might stop in tonight and get some takeout. The snow's just about melted except for a few piles left by the snow plows. I'm getting older and not getting around as good as I use to. I know the day I'm going to have to put the bikes away for good is coming, but I'm still hoping I can get out on the road more this year. Taking one day at a time.
