Wondering where to steal power from and where should I locate the phone charger. Charger/USB recommendation will be appreciated also. Thank you.

The accessory hookup behind the right side cover.

I bolted the 12V plug onto the top of the battery cover. My seat function very well to gain access.

shftr had his just next to the petcock but used it as a lighter

I think if you have an interstate the fairing is the best place

I have one on my handlebar but it is not connected presently.  I unplugged it when I
was trying to trace why the battery kept dying on me

Ended up it was the fog light switch (at least that is my story)   ;)

I recommend NOT mounting any charger or power point anywhere on the bike. It won't look as cool with the wires hanging off of it while riding. I have three power point sockets under the seat. My phone charger cable runs into the right side saddle bag. It's perfect and very convenient for as much as I need to use it

If you drill holes anywhere in any plastic parts you will be drilling in parts that are no longer available new.

I've drilled a couple holes for needed switches. It's been years with no regrets. If you're going to do it, be sure and do it well.

Use the 12v accessory wire and use it trigger a relay that's connected to the battery, then you will have a solid 12v switched power source.
