Will a stock Interstate Seat fit a Tourer?

I'm leaning towards no and don't believe it's a simple swop.  The gas tank on the I/S is bigger.  But, not sure if there are any mods someone did to make it work.

It will, but why?  Many go the other way.

If you search this site, there are probably a lot of old posts about seats and interchangeability.

Almost everyone buys aftermarket seats.  Ultimate (me), Mustang, Russel Day Long... and the terrible Corbins (which are concrete covered in leather). 

I can't remember but seem to recall interstate to tourer/std may end up with the nose of the seat over or rubbing the tank, or a little gap.  But they snap down.

I owned a '99 I/S (Black and Chrome).  I swopped the stock seat to a Mustang w/backrest.  I sold the I/S and now selling the stock seat.  Was contacted by a person who has a Tourer and wants the seat.  Just making sure it will work for him before he drives 400 miles to come pick it up.

Still have my gorgeous 2000 Bumble Bee Standard with a Corbin Stinger Seat (sorry Jess).  I studded it with Mustang chrome studs.  For distance riding (500+ miles), much prefer the Mustang.

No apology necessary man.  Seats and bottoms and preferences vary.   

That seat isn't heavy.  Unless he wants to see before buying, I'd ship rather than 400 miles each way.

I use Ultimate seats (1 lowboy, 1 bigboy), but Mustang backrests on my Interstates (they fit the seat slots perfectly and are better backrests).

Jess has it backwards.  Putting a Standard saddle on an Interstate will result in a crunch as the saddle is made to ride up the slope (shallower) of the Standard.

I put a new set of post 99' pads. Very much like the fit of the Mustang Vintage I had on the 1100 Spirit.
