The people out West will say small potatoes but 4.1 about 90miles away in Greenback Tennessee .  I'm sure Joe M was closer than us. Felt like 15seconds at a minimum.  I have a new respect.

They regularly shook the home and office walls and knocked pictures to the floor in Southern Cal (March AFB).  It's disconcerting.  You get used to it, but worry about a big one.

Speaking of earthquakes, we lived in an apartment in the Chicago area right after my discharge from the USAF. We were on the first floor, a female Dumbo right above us who had to weigh at least near 300lbs.. Her work shift changed each month, if she got the swing shift it meant she came home about 1:00am, would shower, fix a meal, turn on the TV while eating...and our night was over. When she walked, pictures on the wall would rattle or fall, you could see items on the coffee table shake...most miserable existence for us. I finally talked to the apartment manager and was told due to our baseless complaint our lease wouldn't be renewed. That made a lot of sense?! We found a small bungalow in the burbs, nice and quiet, a wonderful life. I do remember a few times in the military prior to marriage, the earth tended to move but probably not an earthquake.

Glad to hear there was no damage. My only experience was one that lasted almost 5 minutes and was considerably stronger (9.2 or so).

I grew up in SOCAL, earthquakes were a normal part of life. The big ones were like hurricanes and little ones like thunderstorms. You get used to them

Jerry, I know you moved, where are you now?
We also moved from Naples area to Walhalla SC and my wife said she felt the floor moving and heard the dishes rattling this morning while I was heading to Greenville.
We're about 150 miles from Greenback.

We've had very small ones which make one take notice when you feel it. It certainly is a strange feeling.

If it was May 10 in the morning, we felt it here in South Carolina too.
I was in the kitchen wondering why the stove exhaust cover was rattling...
fan not on, no wind... Carolyn was wondering if a mouse was in the shelf
next to her chair... then a local facebook friend asked her if she felt the tremor...
