I've attended a lot of motorcycle events and shows over the years, but last weekend was the best. The Quail Motofest isn't a large event, with about 200 bikes and not much over 1,000 attendees. But I've never seen so many amazing motorcycles in one location.

It's held on The Quail Golf Course in Carmel, California. Most entries are decades-old vintage bikes, but some current models and customs are there too. The guests of honor were Wayne Rainey, Steve Baker, and Troy Lee. Here are some photos:

1929 BMW R63

British Douglas - I'd never seen one of these. It has an opposed twin, but with a transverse crankshaft layout.

Vincent Black Shadow - There were several there, including one with a sidecar. The owner of a Vincent Rapide showed me some of the amazing tech these bikes had, especially for 75 years ago.

Henderson Four Cylinder

1913 Sears - From the catalog. Both the headlight and taillight are acetylene powered!

Wards Riverside - Made by Benelli. There were two on display

Here are few more interesting bikes:

Condor - A Swiss dual purpose bike built for the military, using a copy of a Ducati engine.

Indian Arrow Streamliner - Owners were using that yellow treadmill thing to start the engine.

Bridgestone - An old bike that looked like new.

MV Agusta - Those Italians know how to shape a tank!

Two NSUs - Both a car and motorcycle.

HayHauler

Wow, great looking bikes.  Those are some treasures especially with only a few hundred entries!  Amazing.
