From Motomama's post on Facebook, relaying it here so those who don't do social media are aware:

I thought it might be time for an update...i brought Carl in to the ER Saturday as he was having weakness, a very fast heart rate and sweating quite a bit.  He had not been doing anything strenuous prior to this.  At the time I got him here, his heart rate was 159, having multiple PVCs and he was in AFib.  After working with him for a while, he was admitted.  Due to it being a holiday weekend, tests were delayed for a couple of days. Monday they did and echo, Tuesday they did a stress test and they got the results back yesterday.  The scheduled him for a heart cath today.    When they did the heart cath, there was a significant blockage that they removed and put in a large stent to keep that artery open.  They also found scarring that indicates that he had a heart attack at some point.    They also want to do a heart ablation to correct the AFib, however that can't be done for a few weeks, as his heart needs to heal from the cath before doing that.  So, they are staring him on a new med this evening to keep his heart rate from going crazy which means he will have to be in here another 3 days.  When the new med is started, he needs to be monitored in the hospital to see how he responds to it for the first 5 doses.  Since it is administered every 12 hours, it will be mid day Sunday before he will be released.  His heart ablation will either be done Sept 22 or Oct 2.  We don't know which date it will take place at this time.

Does anybody have a way to contact Motomama ? I'm not too far where I could visit him if they allow non-family visitors (I have my own cousin who has spent since Aug 13 at KU Med ).

Just spoke with Motomama. Willow would love visitors!

He's at Overland Park Regional Medical Center

Room 2017.

Carl Holmes is who you're there to see, staff might get confused if you say you're there to see Willow. But maybe not, they've met him.

Mama's farcebook post is pretty complete and accurate.  I am doing well and just killing time in the hospital.  Because of the blood thinners I have been on they had a hard time getting the opening at the wrist to close and stop bleeding.  Efforts became painful (I normally don't confess pain) and lasted until very close to 23:00.  I became a little ugly and more demanding of my very good medical care.  I wasn't able to use my right hand so I didn't communicate earlier even with my wrong hand.

I'm feeling well now.  They are keeping me until Sunday to verify the medication which is intended to keep me off the widely varying heartbeat and planing a resloving ablation probably in early October.

God is still good.

Glad to see you're doing better and posting stuff.

It's tough to keep busy in a regular bed let alone a hospital bed.

Hope you can find something to keep ya entertained until it's time to go home.

Remember no pinching the nurses.  ;D

wow.  proper intake of various minerals prevents ""abnormal electrical signals"", but the medical cartel industry can't make insurance money by telling their patients how to eat.
"Ablation is a procedure to treat atrial fibrillation by creating scar tissue in the heart to block abnormal electrical signals"
And you use this post to spew your supposed "medical advice"?  Just what medical credentials do you carry?  You have no idea about how we live our lives, what supplements and vitamins we take,  what we eat, nor do you know ANYTHING about our health issues or  the health care we have had!  We DO NOT need your opinion or your advice!  It is unwanted!  Start your own thread  (that I will ignore) or go "play" elsewhere!

Sorry to hear of your troubles, glad to see you're in good hands. I've found that nursing care greatly improves by tipping them with insane amounts of candy and chinese food. Just an FYI.

wasn't addressing anything to you or anything about you. I didn't post to you.  didn't mean to offend you. just trying to help all.
You are NOT helping!  When I said WE, I was referring to myself and my husband, Willow.  We know all we need to know about the procedure...we do NOT need nor want your input or you so called advice!!!  We have all of the information we need!

They have done pretty well what they were going to do for this time around.  It's been a week today. Yesterday and today they're simply keeping me in because the medication they are putting me on, tikosyn, until the ablation requires that the first five doses, at twelve hour intervals, is required to be under physician's direct care.
They during the heart cath inserted a stint saying it wasn't a complete or near complete blockage but enough to slow down the blood flow.  Since the stint was inserted they want at least four weeks before the ablation.  Currently that is expected either 22 September or 02 October, likely as an out-patient procedure.

They expect to release me from the hospital either late this evening or sometime tomorrow morning.

That's probably more information that you wanted to know but I am good for now.  We have brothers, and sisters, who are dealing with more critical situations.  God is still good.

Best wishes for a quick recovery, Carl.  Had my episode in 2017, pacemaker now, doing well.

Glad it's going as planned Carl. My dad went through similar with his AFIB and I was amazed then ( 5 or 6  years ago) how routine they treat these things. I guess they have done them enough it seems like no big deal. It's still a big deal until you get it done and over with. Praying the issues are corrected

Ok - I'm heading out to see Carl. 1005 CDT

I glad things are going well for you and hope the upcoming procedure helps square everything up.
